Default Falklands/Malvinas latest, help from God sought.

It was only a matter of time, but she's been quicker off the mark than I thought she would be!!!

Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner says she has asked for the Pope's intervention in the Falklands dispute between her country and the UK.

Again, this isn't a thread for bashing other nationalities, keep it sensible and decent.

I suppose Mr Pope could speak to his lord and master but I don't think that would do much good.

These two were on GMA (good morning america) this morning with the news that she was the first important vip person the new pope had received,
but they went on to say that while he was just a cardinal they had been at odds with each other over something undisclosed.

Sounds like she is saying to the pope, "hey if you treat me right on this favor then I will treat you right"

This pope has a lot going for him that's for sure, but is it God?

Time will tell

She must be getting a little desperate...anything to divert the voting masses what kind of economic mess her country is in.

Quote:
The two also kissed, and Mrs Kirchner remarked afterwards: "Never in my life has a pope kissed me!''
Hardly surprising...simply look at the mirror dear.

Visiting the Vatican, Ms Fernandez said she had asked the Pope to promote dialogue between the two sides.
I don't know what there is to talk about:

Argentina: "Give us those islands"
Britain: "No"

End of story...

Well, Im not into religion nor do I care about any pope but back in the 60's during the cuban missile crisis? Guess who negotiated with the US and Russia. Pope John Paul II.

In many documentations about this topic it was mentioned that his negotiations have been what saved us some "bright moments".

I can't say how accurate those reports are though.

I (want to) believe it, so the church finally did something good... But that's just me.

That was John XXIII. John Paul II became pope in 1978.

Ah, true!
As if Wojtyla would have been pope for such a long time
