Default [REQ]Need Assistance for Snorkle

As you can see in Screen Capture below, I figued out how to install the Hinged Snorkle but it does not function. The objSnorkle Control is missing and there is no Data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7c\Submarine Parts\Room_EXT - Snorkle + Anim.sim to add it.

Not sure how to or if I can make any further progress.

I am hoping that one of you Techno-Guru's could make the needed SIM file.

I get this same snorkel on my deck when using Equipment Upgrades Fix...would be great if it worked...but is there a way I can remove it in the meantime while still using EUF?

Deactivate the Equipment Upgrades MOD
Remove the Data\Submarine folder and sub-folders from the Equipment Upgrades MOD
Activate the Equipment Upgrades MOD

Done!

are there even people out there that have made a .sim file from scratch? Pardon ignorance, but sounds like a developer job to me. Who would know?

Just stirring the pot so to speak.

I've been making .dat, .sim, .val, .zon, and now .fx files from scratch for some time now. I use hex editor and Pack3D to do my dirty work Sometimes you can take an existing file and modify it to your needs (usually works 75% of the time)

Can you make a SIM file for the Hinged Snorkle?

The GR2 is located here:
Data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7c\Submarine Parts\Room_EXT - Snorkle + Anim.GR2

I tried making a SIM file for it but was unable to link the obj_Snorkle Controller in the SIM to the Snorkle. Not sure how to specify Parent ID from GR2 in the SIM.

bumping this because of recent developments.

I was thinking, maybe there is an existing file/piece of code for other hinged pieces of the boat to draw ideas from? The Conning Tower hatch maybe?

Aside: Im going back to school soon, and my cousin suggested I take programming classes. What type of courses would I benefit from taking in order to step up to the plate for modding SH5? At the very least, a baseline of rudimentary knowledge to expand on through self teaching from internet info?
