[REQ]Need Assistance for Snorkle

As you can see in Screen Capture below, I figued out how to install the Hinged Snorkle but it does not function. The objSnorkle Control is missing and there is no Data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7c\Submarine Parts\Room_EXT - Snorkle + Anim.sim to add it.:damn:

Not sure how to or if I can make any further progress.:timeout:

I am hoping that one of you Techno-Guru's could make the needed SIM file.

I hope this is sorted out soon because this is very much needed for the open horizon campain.

I get this same snorkel on my deck when using Equipment Upgrades Fix...would be great if it worked...but is there a way I can remove it in the meantime while still using EUF?

Deactivate the Equipment Upgrades MOD
Remove the Data\Submarine folder and sub-folders from the Equipment Upgrades MOD
Activate the Equipment Upgrades MOD

Done!:salute:

are there even people out there that have made a .sim file from scratch? Pardon ignorance, but sounds like a developer job to me. Who would know?

Just stirring the pot so to speak.:salute:

I've been making .dat, .sim, .val, .zon, and now .fx files from scratch for some time now. I use hex editor and Pack3D to do my dirty work :yep: Sometimes you can take an existing file and modify it to your needs (usually works 75% of the time)

Can you make a SIM file for the Hinged Snorkle?

The GR2 is located here:
Data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7c\Submarine Parts\Room_EXT - Snorkle + Anim.GR2

I tried making a SIM file for it but was unable to link the obj_Snorkle Controller in the SIM to the Snorkle. Not sure how to specify Parent ID from GR2 in the SIM.

You have PM

I was thinking, maybe there is an existing file/piece of code for other hinged pieces of the boat to draw ideas from? The Conning Tower hatch maybe?

Aside: Im going back to school soon, and my cousin suggested I take programming classes. What type of courses would I benefit from taking in order to step up to the plate for modding SH5? At the very least, a baseline of rudimentary knowledge to expand on through self teaching from internet info?

ot, but i must say again: the water is really nice in sh5...really nice. a shame we cant have this in sh3...
