But what struck me as odd is the report on the news this morning. It was clearly a borrowed report from a British agency where Kate Middleton was noted to be a commoner; a term that is not used at all stateside. I know that it is used to donte a person who is not attached to the Royal Family, but the way the reporter said it with a very hard emphais on the 'c', you'd think it was the 15th century and we was describing some peasant wench: 'And so the Prince will marry this commoner next year.'
Not disparaging the royals, but it is not something I was accustomed to hearing and it jumped out at me. Last edited by Takeda Shingen; 11-16-10 at 12:28 PM. |
