Default Republicans break tax pledge hours after proposing it....

http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dc/...e-tax-cut.html

Quote:
Four hours after the GOP rolled out its new campaign manifesto, a bill containing $12 billion in tax cuts for small business passed on a 237-187 vote in the House. Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) was the lone Republican to vote for the measure.

“By breaking one of their top pledges within hours of making it, Republicans proved that you can put as much stock into their promises as you can a promise made at a Lindsay Lohan probation hearing,” snapped Democratic National Committee spokesman Hari Sevugan.

The republican defence was just as pathetic.. Oh now so helping small biz is bailouts and tax increases?

This "Pledge to America" Is starting to be a dream come true for democrats picking it apart piece by piece to show how republicans vote against what they stand for time and time again.

Stewart TORE APART that idiotic pledge. Showing it to be about as Bush Era as it gets.

So two years ago, just to get this straight, two years ago America broke up with you, because you had badly mistreated her. And so you disappear, do some soul-searching, get your head together, and you come back rapping on our door, hat in hand, and you say, "Baby, I know you love me. But if we get back together, I pledge to you, I promise you, I will still try to **** your sister every chance I get. It's who I am, baby! It's who I am! Now, make up your mind, because I'm not going to ask you twice!

^^ LOL Ain't that the truth.

Somehow I'm just not surprised. Regardless of which party makes a "pledge", we can certainly count on promises not being kept.

There's only one party and that's the business/corporate party.

HR 5297 is a good bill. Small business lending has been stagnant, and anything that can help prime the pump to get credit flowing in the SBA space is money well spent. I don't have the chart in front of me, but SBA loan volume plummeted after the 90% guarantee expired a few months ago (SBA loans are normally 80% guaranteed by the SBA.) This bill will extend the 90% provision and increase max loan size.

Stop being so partisan and look at things more pragmatically.

Isn't this the kind of knee-jerk reaction that you were just deriding Team R for?

I disagree with that, especially given the fact that the banner headline reads 'The 2010 Republican Agenda'.
