Let me tell you a little story. Happened roughly 2 years ago......

"Clickable TBT? I can totally do that! Should be no problem with S3D. Piece of cake... childs play!"

Two weeks later...........

Why..... wont....... you.... work!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A week after that, out of desperation, Ducimus Emails Dan, lead designer of SH4....

"Dan, ive done everything i could think of, twice, ive checked all the controllers again and again. It should work, but its not! What am i missing here?!!?!?!?!?"

The lead designer responds 3 days later.....

"Welcome to my hell" (Exact quote, i'll never forget it)

Ducimus, where's that German thing that's clickable that you meantioned Ducimus? Did you have a mod that put it into the game? I couldn't get my import from the German side to work (whatever thing it was - the German UZO?).

If memory serves me correctly, a direct import from SH3, would have a clickable UZO. (german TBT), but i couldn't reverse engineer it to find out how it worked. SH3's implentation of it is completely different. Its part of the conning tower dat.

I guess i remembered wrong then. I think its a pipeline issue. If you'll notice, NOTHING clickable works on the exterior. Yet gauges do. Never could figure that out.

Hi, thanks for your answers, guys.

And many thanks for theses great shots from "Shining".

Do you mean that making TBT clickable is difficult, because this is hardcoded ?

This is just an advice : there is here a great moder (i can't remeber the right one -Ducimus, Vickers03, or Flakmonkey ?) who give the possibility to click on particular items, in control room, which give access to main orders, i.e. crash dive, emergency blow, silent running on or off, etc.
(this is for american part of SH4, indeed).

So, is there any hopefulness to have, on day, a clickable TBT and (this is a great hope too) a clickable dive alarm klaxon on the bridge ?

Regards

You're up on me, I don't think any of my dials on the bridge work. I heard others have a clickable compass, but mine doesn't do anything.

I just confirmed it by loading OM and trying both the Type II and VII. It works. Clicking on the 3D UZO on the bridge takes you directly to the uzo view 2D station.
