Thanks GT182....I downloaded Sober's massive mod list last week, I also realized that my laptop was not going to handle all the mods he was using. I choose the ones from his list that I wanted and my PC could handle. I followed his order in his MEPS file to install them. I will double check my installation order again to see if I screwed up (been known to do that on occasion ) Something has to be wrong on my end since you do get the convoy sighted messages.

Don't worry Kelly, it's not your mods list fault IMO.
I also have task force sighted for any 2 or more merchants UNARMED.
Just this afternoon again, 2 small fishing ships were given as task force with OHII Full...and no guns there!
I even think i never had convoy sighted message!...but no big deal for me.

I've never seen or heard a "convoy sighted" message..
With or without OHII full..
With or without any mods..
I'm afraid GT182 was wrong..

In OHZII i've got the task force sighted messeage for a fishing trawler and a coastal boat going together maybe 25 times....

I am not a programmer or mod maker so forgive my ignorance if I am asking you a stupid question The code listed above, I am assuming, is from the game and reflects SH 5' inability to distinguish between fishing boats, a convoy or task force and the original conclusion of 2 or more vessels equal a task force is correct? .......or am my missing the point

Nope not broken at all. Sorry but I was wrong... no call of Convoy Sighted. Just the call of Ship Sighted, which can be the first ship sighted in a convoy.

But.... Task Force Sighted does come up for 2 armed Troop ships, not Merchants. If that was the case stated perviously, a convoy of Merchants and Tankers would be called a Task Force if all were armed. And that doesn't happen in my SH5. No, I'm not running the 'Speech fixes and additions (english version) V1.0' mod. My understanding is it's for CSP Magui 3.0... which I'm not using.

Just had this happen in British Coastal Waters.
