After reading from the many post on the threads in here from credible members that know what there talking about and are active members unlike myself. I find it hard to get excited about a game that looks like firstly there is mistake all over the place, has limited content compared to the previous versions.

Yes it looks very nice, but then you look again and you see shadows missing etc and in today’s games that’s sloppy. The limited Video releases tells its own story and that there scared stiff and not proud of there work.

When I first learnt SH5 was on the cards I thought great it will be the game I wished for in SH3 my last sub purchase, everything has moved on so much with Computer hardware. But I’m disappointed at what I’ve seen so far and I was even going to bring my new purchase of a new Rig to run this forward as at present I have a five year old system.

Well done in getting excited about a game that really has nothing good to say about itself so far.
And I tip my cap to those who I regard on here that fight to enlighten us and encourage us not to accept sloppy, lazy, rushed game releases. Fan boys add nothing.

People judge by what they are shown.
and what they are shown is apprearently not much, less than they expected, and reason for a lot of negativity.

Let them vent.
Let me vent.

me being a part of tha "moaning" "people"... dont tell me wether i have to get a grip or not. I could "possibly" thake that personal.

Thanks.

*edit*
That does not mean i am putting the programers and SHV creators work down in any way. I applaude them for their continued efforts!

Well IMHO the missing years and lack of Boat types is really quite forgivable.
It was only expected because of what was present in SH3, but we have to apprieciate that they are quite deiffernt games. The SH5 campaign is far more detailed that SH3 so it takes longer to script, the U-boat models plus full interior is also far more detailed than SH3, so again it takes much longer to model and implement.
Sometimes less is more.

The DRM is really the main problem here.
I will still buy the game and try to live with it (call me a scab if you want), but I have no argument with those who will not, I dont view those with no (or weak) internet connection as 'whiners' they have every right to be angry.

The the part that upsets me most about the DRM? It will likely probably be cracked soon enought anyway, in which case the pirates will be mearly 'delayed' while legit customers will suffer or go without and the Publisher loses out on substancial sales from both potential customers AND pirates alike.
Look what happened to Spore (and that was over an install limit)

I would assume that Ubi would need to bail on the DRM as soon as is it cracked by pirates, failing to do so would be suicide.

Don’t see that at all, in fact it’s the senior Members that have raised there fears over the many posts but then I don’t know how much you read on here…… I have no experience with DRM so wont comment apart from that sounds poor. But when a member posts a remark then backs it up with picture evidence then I take it on board and rightly so.

I’m I thinking twice about buying this – Yes. But I’m not a big game buyer as I’ve said last game was FM2008 and before that BF2. But I do Buy a game if I think it will be quality and give me hours of entertainment.

Personally I dont care what anyone says about the screenshots & videos, Senior member or not - it means nothing to me, they sill havent played the game and are just making observations (usually negative) that lead to assumptions.

I will play the game for myself and form my own opinion. I will listen to what others think about SHV as it can be intresting/funny/whatever -but I will not let it influence what ever I decide to do.

Nobody is telling you that you can't buy it. Buy all means go and get it the minute it hits the shelves.
People express their own opinions about what they see from screenshots/videos/interviews etc.
What a sensible man can see is, it looks no where close to awesome, but go ahead, dream on, I guess all shall be revealed in march

Again, that last part is YOUR opinon
Who are you to judge the sensiblities of others? and likewise who are they to judge yours?
I will decide how awesome it is for me when I play it. End of story.

I totally agree with that point. I've been saying that for some days now, apparently, those of us wanting to buy it to be able to make an informed decision for ourselves, are a bunch of fools. Whatever, I think that makes us more of a bunch of smart guys, than fools. At least we'll know what we're talking about.
Though I don't agree with you in the point that the GUI looks cool. That's one of the few facts we can see in the screencaps we've been presented so far, and, while I understand it's the choice the Devs must have had to take in order to have an usable minimalistic interface, I quite don't find it the most appropiate choice. Will be modded for sure after release though, so doesn't really bother me.

A really sensible man would think that the best way to judge would be to test the product. If we had all the information of the world about its functionality, its features, well we could throw in some informed opinions. But we've only seen graphics. Nowhere near close to functional details and the realism environment (the IA sees your closer or further, what happens when an enemy bullet hits you, what happens to ships when they're hit by a torpedo, what happens when you take manual control of the TVR -TDC for everyone else-, what happens if you're surfaced on daylight at 1943, etc...), just all the eyecandy, which we're quite familiar with right now.
And, it's not like the most expensive game you'll find, so, one buys it, and if it's no good, then, ok, some money spent, but at least you have the right to say if it's pure crap or not.

Cheers

...to me the game still looks like a big, big building site...there will be so much to do, until we get a state of "acceptable so far".

and since we seem not to get any further information on the tools, there still remains the fear of a totally failed game to me. cause one thing is for sure: the game at the state of release, will not be acceptable. and if theres no possibility to change the content, the game will be a big shoot in the foot.

nothing else.

Well I’ll actually use the views and offical reviews I read to form an informed judgment. Bit stupid not too really use such a great source of information. Why spend money on a half built game possibly when the sheep can do it for me.

When I bought my new cars I used reviews and personal opinions, same when I bought my new digital camera there. Views of others on here is great to point out things I miss.

Anyone fool can waste money on a game, any fool can post on a thread but you can sort out the wheat from the chaff most of the time

Red pointers etc.. will be able to be switch off as they have been in every SH since 3 and I'm sure many other realism settings will remain that were there in SH3 and 4.

Moan about DRM but get a grip people - I'm sick to death of reading about people posting remarks about the game's simulation qualities vs arcade when they have zero facts either way on the matter. And personally I think the concerns are unfounded. I think when this game comes out it will turn out to be SH3 and so much more. Ok , the campaign ends in 1943 - this is clearly because they want to release addons. And even if they don't it WILL be modded.

I am SO looking forward to this game. Being able to run around inside the sub from compartment to compartment - running around the Sub Pen while docked! - The incredible looking graphics we have seen thus far - The incredible potential for modding! I'm sick of hearing people analysing which way a shadow is pointing.

Oh and personally I think the new interface looks superb and seems a welcome breath of fresh air compared to the clunky interfaces present in SH3 and 4.

You have never had it so good - the most good looking sub game ever and many are refusing to buy it or simply spending their days posting videos and images poking fun at game.

Only a month to go - cannot wait!

Everyone else who is also excited for this release please feel welcome toadd your support to the game and its developers here.
I need to BUY the SILENT HUNTER 5 as soon as POSSIBLE

I'll buy, too. If they get rid of DRM/OSP

I have an upgraded computer on order.
