Hello
I am having trouble adding mods. I have installed JSGME in the mods folder, downloaded mods, and activated them through JSGME, but they do not activate when I'm playing SH4. Any help out there as to what is going on?? kipkipkip |

Have you followed the steps in the readme:

Also, prolly too late now, but you can avoid much Vista angst by installing *outside* of Program Files, say to C:\Games\ or F:\Games\. |

Okay, nothing is working. JSGME should be under MOD's folder? This is where mine is. I've done system administrator and everything. Still I see no mods. What gives? How do you install the mods manually?

I run Vista 32bit and have no probs at all with JSGME, I do have UAC turned off if that makes a difference. Can't think of any other reason, are you unpacking the zips into the MOD folder in SH4 directory? :hmm:

If you want to turn UAC off go to ,Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and there is a option to turn User Account Control off. I also run every program as Administrator which allows me to run Vista flawlessly.

I have full access to run as administrator, system and my name. Do I need to turn system and my name off?

lol, don't run as admin, don't turn off UAC, all you do is make your system vulnerable to virusses, trojans and other crap. If you don't know how to work around this issue or what UAC is, then you're better off leaving UAC on, and not let yourself be an admin...
If you just read about the solution given above (by JScones) or in the other thread, JSGME and SH work fine. To recap: Install game and JSGME to a non-<program files> folder or different drive.

Hiya's,
I will try and simplify things for him if i can You d-load jsgme (get his latest n greatest new release ![]() Now i save d-loads to desktop so i can easily find the blighters lol 1 Wherever the jsgme save is run it to desktop 2 The jsgme exe will now be on desktop 3 Copy it and go into SH4 main folder 4 Run the exe, This then creates the MODS folder (you don't want the jsgme in this folder) 5 Over jsgme exe that's now created the mods folder make a shortcut of the jsgme and use it from dragging to quickstart (keeps desktop clutter down) or wherever you want the s-cut Now any jsgme compatable mods you extract into sh4-blah blah "MODS" folder Then you open jsgme with s-cut and you will see added mods on the left, Use the button to add them to the right (this activates the mods) To move to left simply highlight them n hit button for adding To disable (move from activated mode to not activated mode) either individually highlight and move back to the left or there's a button to disbale/remove all Hope this helps Have Fun Def And welcome to the forums ![]() |
