Default Armstrong to admit to doping

News reporting Lance Armstrong will admit to doping to Oprah. In doing so, he opens himself to many legal actions..

This was my feeling for a long time.

But he makes zero effort to fight it after all this time.

They have something on him, he feels if he concedes now, something even nastier will not come out.

I seen Barry Bonds put up more of a fight than him, and everyone knows Barry was doper. Someone has something on Lance, and is ruining him.

Not saying he was not wrong, just saying that I do not think Lance was the only doper, he just peeved the wrong folks somewhere along the line.

My humble opinion, just guessing.

Nothing is ever simple.

"he wants to get back in the biathlon" was the credo back here a few days ago.
and in order to get that possibility, he has to come clean somehow.
Not that i care much.
Once a cheater...

He has fought doping allegations since his first Tour win.

The only evidence against him is accusation by others.

But he has been stripped of his titles and banned.

He is doing this in the hope he can compete again. He doesn't have any other options except retirement, and obviously he doesn't want to do that yet.

I do believe he doped and cheated.........just like every other cyclist he was trying to beat. It is the most corrupt sport in the history of sport.
I blame him not.

I am in the opinion he did cheat HundertzehnGustav.

I just never seen any proof outside of his own unwillingness to fight the accusations.

The baseball dopers put up a better fight than this, and they stood before congress and lied (imho)

What do they have on Lance? He won't fight it, yet won't admit to it.

Can be attributed to ego I am sure, but the lack of proof on one side or the other is cause for alarm.

Me personally? Did Lance juice up? (IMHO?)

I think he did, but did anyone he competed against juice up? I think they did too. This is as tainted as baseball is now in America. How many did we induct this year (hall of fame)? And why oh why were the homerun champs not inducted first ballot?

We know what they are, and the age we sadly live in.

He has fought doping allegations since his first Tour win. He fought it right up to the day his titles were stripped.

... and exactly that makes me "love" sports so much.
Modern sports is like the Circus games back then.
Opium to the people.

I once heard a sportsman explain that doping comes because the spectator wants to see men run faster, jumpers jump higher and pole vaulters vault further.

That the spectator is inciting these Dudes and Dudettes to pimp themselves.

Aha?
while i can understand the principle, and also see the pressure...

the rules say NO.

So apart from being a ridiculous thing that can shrink your Nuts and make you look like a monster or a clown, it is still not permitted.

So, the sports world is twisted. The entire professional sports world is riddled with this crap.

Therefor: should i care?

Give them a Big shot of their favorite products. a realllllllly big shot that freezes their brains and makes their Hazelnuts implode.
Then let them die an agonizing death.
They serve no purpose, and get none of my sympathy.

There is no doubt that Armstrong doped.
But who can say he didn't, among the contenders for the win ?
Also, there is no question the poor Armstrong is the scapegoat these days.
Without massive doping ? No more breakaway in mountainous terrain. So, speaking about the little part of his career I'm familiar with, the right question regarding Armstrong is : how the hell did this guy, who didn't have the potential to win one and only tour de France at the beginning of his career (unlike some giants like Anquetil, Merckx and Hinault), happen to be able to win it 7 times, exploding all records ?

Here is the great mystery, and real annoyance for the real connoisseurs and bicycle lovers. Winning such a great competition once can be considered a marvellous personal performance. He won this competition 7 consecutive times, for 7 years in a row. In this incredible prodigy, what is the share of the little man, and the one of his country's chemistry ? Personally I hope we'll have an answer to that question, for the sake of knowledge and morality.
