Just sometimes
Reading all of these post . I can see that these problems happen occasiionally at least for me .. The problem described about your crew not being topside after surfacing has happend a few times for me .. when this did happen . I was in rough seas , and it was like a mutiny .. Crew topside is more like eye candy , The only important person is the xo as a watch officer .. who cant point out visual contacts and get the crew to man the flak/deck gun , MCCD enabled he has more authorty when you are on the bridge to order the crew your needs of the - Uboat .. I have often and continull y saved my game after the automatic feature saves the game ,
A few things that bother me in :"saved games " is .. The fact in my last sortie I iam compltelty out of torpedoes . I had just hit a hog island frieghter and caught him in his bow area . when you leave the game he is on fire , Being saved , But when you return the fire is out and he steaming away on his , seemingly un damged .. Unlike sh4 if you save the game you will return o th ework you have done .. is this a bug of sorts .. and a final question is ! when you disable mods in sh5 , what happens to all the disabled files . do they stay in the folders ? I noticed when you disable mods in Sh4 .. your recycle bins is full of disabled mods folders . I wonder if loeft over mods in sh5 , Can they cause CTD ' s If the ctach is not cleared ?

After reinstall my mods (not the game) i haven´t not more this problem. Even the deep under keel problem is gone.
My thoughts: 1. Sh5 is really sensible in the UI/teleportation 2. The deep under keel solution is this: when reload or start a mission don´t ask deep under keel too early, wait a minute in game (probably some automation routine needs to finish) and then you will have not problems. 3. The problem of the crew not returning to the deck is about mod mess (draught modifications like TDW suggested?) and perhaps also some teleportation call that don´t like so much key hits. 4. but, the best news is that this isn´t a real problem, you will learn how to avoid them.

Im having the same problem. After starting a new mission after finishing coastal waters (in OHII v1.7) I find there is no crew on the bridge and the watch crew are stood around downstairs with thier arms out like loonies...
If I click on D. Epp to ask him to man the flak guns I get a CTD. Normal fixing behaviour like diving or going to periscope depth then surfacing has not worked either! I started from the autosave entering port aswell but that didnt fix it. I have a feeling that when I went into port I had a problem with my mod soup with Mighty Fine Crew mod being overridden by something (should'nt be DBSM music or speech I don't think but thats what JSGME said) but as I can't find a fix yet it may have to be a new career. Here's a screenshot of what the crew are doing when they're not obeying orders to go topside... ![]() |

Just a note on this - playing around with my mod order fixed this. I put mightyfine crew mod first. If anyone else is having a similar problem try that!
