You could add a generous portion of white guilt.....though some still hold on to "hope & change."

Random, rambling thoughts reading this thread which I ordiniarly would not respond to:

- Oh joy.. more parroting of extreme right wing radio fear mongering.

- Some people really heap all the countries ills and demonize Obama so much, they genuinly believe he's the antichrist or something. It's amazing what people will talk themselves into believing. If Obama was a white guy, most of this malarky wouldn't be happening. Racism is deep seeded in our country. People like to pretend it isn't, but it really is.

- Last sitting president, a Republican said, "Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It's just a goddamned piece of paper! ". Just saying.....

- I honestly don't believe this, or any US president would deliberatly act against the interests of the country. Each one does what they feel is right for the well being of the United Sates, regardless if we agree with how they go about it or not.

- Congress can't pass squat as far as the current situation goes. They're all worried about relection, party politics, and special interests. By the time they passed anything, the country would have crumbled into dust all around them. Id rather not wait that long. If the president can, in the best interests of the country, get around that deadlock, good so much the better. Because at least then someone is doing something, anything!. My understanding of the current times leads me to beleive doing something/anything is far more bennficial then doing nothing at all.

- After all the signing statements Bush did, Executive action at this point, gets a "meh" outta me given congressional deadlock.

The Congressional Black congress said, if he weren't black, they'd be storming the whitehouse now.

Racism exists in many forms. Ive seen it firsthand in the south, and other areas of the country, ive seen plenty of it on the web (and believe me, in my line of work i see ALOT of everything the web has to offer), and though it pains me to admit it, I'm a little racist myself. I realize it, am not proud of it, but I feel how i feel and nothing will change that.

Anyone who has ever said race has nothing to do with Obama as president (either for or against) or any of his decisions is either naive or lying.

So according to your logic, I am a racist? Even though my family is bi-racial in make up....

If you accused me of being a misanthrope, you would be spot on. I hate ignorant people of all, shapes, sizes, colors, religions, sexual orientation, sexual preference, gender confused, etc.

In case people forgot: Obama is just as white as he is black. I base my opinions of the man by the company he keeps. It is very telling.

It can't help anyone when the Senate won't even consider them. As for corporate welfare acts - who do you think employs people? If you want to bring up taxes on corporations - you do realize that all they do is pass the "tax" cost on to the consumer - you and I - anyway right? So lightening the tax burden lighten's everyones load.

I still want to know where the "jobs' are that they ran on.
People say that Obama hasn't had time to fix things - yet you have some expectation that one half of one third of the government is going to accomplish everything after being in office less than a year. If that is your expectation, you need to make sure you vote for whichever candidate claims to be a fairy with a magic wand - and I am not talking about the Barney Frank kind....

I hate both sides ok. (sheesh how many times do I have to say that, and how many more times have I bashed Obama than defended him?)
There is plenty on both sides to hate - they both are responsible for landing us in this mess. The problem is your hate tends to be selective. Ok, you don't like Obama. Thats one Democrat you don't care for. You don't like "repuglicans" - which is an entire spectrum of people. Seems your hatred is generalized on one hand, and rather selective on the other.

So whats your view on Mitch McConnel and open obstructionism? That is good?
My view on that is that Mitch opened his big mouth before thinking. Had he been smart, he would have said "When it gets to us, we will see what happens". The reality is - Harry Reid can't get the bill passed in the senate anyway - so complaining about Mitch is kind of moot.

Of course - as I pointed out earlier - Harry Reid is being just as obstructionist with the passed House Bills referenced above - but that selective hate of yours (and so many others "self-hating liberals") don't seem to care to discuss that.

The thing to realize here soopa, is that we have been on this stimulus track for a fair while now - and have nothing but more debt to show for it. Make no mistake, the "jobs" bill is not about jobs, its about more stimulus. That has failed. Its time to go a different direction - and the left - from Pelosi, Reid, Obama, and the rest of the "power players' are doing all they can to keep that from happening. Its in THEIR best interest to ignore the proposals of the other side, then claim the other side is "doing nothing".

You took one sentence then nitpicked it, then when I didn't respond you tried to talk down to me..
No, I corrected a couple of mistatements, and advised you to go check your facts before you make claims that you can't back up. That isn't talking down to you. Hate that you feel that way, but knowledge is power, and I'd rather see you informed with truth.

George Washington advised against the Party system, and he was right. I agree that we need to move beyond it. However, that is a pipe dream unless real ballot access reform happens.

I love disagreeing with you CaptainHaplo. I also love agreeing with reason. After all, I am not dense. Well uh, ok maybe I am.

George Washington was the only president who didn't want the job. (someone knew something)

Something is rotten here, it stinks like heck, and we all smell it. It is a moot point to point fingers of blame on who made the foul smell.

I just hope we can get out the bleach and wash this vile rot from our house. I just have zero faith in the current political system.

It's funny, a while go, they had a show about the history of the Chicago mob. The show was made pre-obama, and sure enough they start talking about Tony Rezko. Now who was Rezko's buddy again? Ditka? No. Bozo the Clown? No Rexgrossman? No. Gosh, it's on the tip of my tongue...
