Were they considered experimental? Maybe I should go back and read it again. I remember O'Kane had awful problems with his torps, as well. I forget which patrol(s). What bothered me most about Fluckey's patrol was that this was at the last stage of the war. It suggests that the USN never did solve it's torpedo issues.
