Default Does the S3D Tool works with Windows 7 64-bit Professional?

Hi Folks !

As the Title says !

I´ve installed on my PC a new OS (Win 7 64 bit Professional).

Now before I start the install of the S3D Tool my question, whether the S3D works with Win 7 ?

And what if I have to consider when installing on Win 7 ?

And last, have anybody please an download link for an Version of S3D, that works with Win 7 ?!

Best regards and thanks for help,

Hi Magic

Although my experience with S3D tool is only limited, to answer your questions.

Yes it works fine with win7 64

If you have any problems just install it outside c:/program files(x86)

(Alternatively just turn off UDC and you'll never have a problem again)

The link in Plissken 04 (Maik) ftp downloads section is fine for both 32 and 64 bit OS's
ftp://maikhaas.dyndns.org/Volume_1/S...ODS/SKWASJAER/

Hope this helps mate.

Best regards.

Hi Magic,

i guess it is much more important not to install the files (you want to work on with S3D) are not installed in c:\program files\... unless you turn off UAC as Fubar2Niner suggested.

Means: Do not install SH3 into c:\program files\... !

Best regards,
Magic

The usual stuff, ie pretty much the same as if you were to install SH3 itself in the same. Run with admin rights etc. If you are going to install into default dir Magic, disable UAC.

Best regards.

S3D is supported on Vista and up without problems but will run in 32-bit mode (due to DirectX being 32-bit). It can also be safely installed in Program Files. UAC is only an issue with the game, since applications are not allowed to write to Program Files without admin-priviledges (so S3D would need to run in admin-mode).
