Besides, isn't he the Ollie North who was found Not Guilty?
No its the Ollie North that was found guilty.

instead certain people piss and moan like writhing whores about the Marine who was smart enough to outsmart congress.
Since when has that been a Marines job?

they learned from the Joe the (idiot) Plummer guy
You mean Joe the tax dodging not the plumber who funnily enough became a media celebrity with the same people.

Some of these people take book signings pretty seriously.

I heard one lady saying she spent the night to get some sports star's book signed

I already responded to that whine. Did you miss it, or are you ignoring it?

It's everybody's job. You're the only one who thinks Congress is worth anything. And again you didn't answer the charge.

No argument there.

Yes, and you incorrectly said he was found not guilty, are you ignoring that?

Is it really?
His job involved following his oath of office, since his problems began with taking US laws and breaking them while aiding enemies of the state then he can in no way be described as doing his job as a Marine.

Sorry to break it to ya Sailor, but them people in Congress are politicians.

Whichever way you cut it he lied under oath which makes him a rather despicable character, wrapping himself in the flag makes it even more despicable and stains both the flag and his uniform together with all that is supposed to stand for.

Yeah, why try to keep the executive branch in check.

And Ollie sure foxed them good, if by "foxed" you meant "lied to." A true American hero.

No, it was the opposition trying to squash a president they didn't like. Same as the Clinton impeachment, which to my mind was another useless witchhunt.

I covered that. Prove otherwise.

I have run into former Canadian prime ministers up here, met John Turner, Jean Chretien in the past and Paul Martin at a book launch a few months back.

Of course, things are looser in Canada, no security details for former PMs.

The proof was in your post, it was also in his testimonies plus its in his later own media material.
He either lied in the first case or he was lying in the second case about the first case. Either way he is a liar and as it happens he was lying about actions which were contrary to US law as signed by the US President which he as part of his job was sworn to obey.
So whichever way you look at it he is a liar and a disgrace to his uniform.

I accept that he lied the first time (to the committee who had no authority and to whom he did not swear an oath) and told the truth under oath. I could be wrong. You could be right. But in this case we are talking about a committee and a congress who are just as dishonest with each other and with us. Argue as you will about what crimes were committed, this was still nothing more than a one-sided hunt for a scapegoat.

Before you think I'm one-sided, I felt exactly the same way about the Clinton impeachment (but I've already said that).

So that means Monica Lewinski changed her name?

Yet also talking about the President, the AG and the FBI.
I am sure you can recall just how big this scandal was.
After all the funding amendment about the contras came about after a big story of US trained and financed "freedom fighters" murdering lots of women and kids.
To add hilarity to the particular topic, one of the reporters who broke the story was a former US Marine officer and the local special forces heroes who murdered the women and kids were trained by US special forces.

It was a two sided hunt for someone to take the fall, both of the big parties were involved.

I had a similar experience in 1999. I was driving skiers from the Salt Lake airport to the local resorts, and had a pickup in Park City. There were three couples, and they asked me to stop at a convenience store on the way out of town. They came back out with their arms full of newspapers - they had bought every copy in the store! It seems that the Clintons were in town for a ski holiday, and during a photo op one of the couples in my van were selected to get their picture taken shaking hands with Bill, and the picture was on the front page of Section 2 (Local News) of the Salt Lake Tribune. They wanted copies for all their friends.

They asked me if I was a Clinton fan, and I said "No". The woman said "Neither are we, but...but..."

And I replied "But you got your picture taken shaking hands with the President of the United States, and that's something to tell your grandchildren about!"

And there were Democrats involved in the Clinton impeachment. It was still an attempt by the opposition to 'get' the sitting president. Stupid, shallow and petty, even if the charges were true, which was never actually proven.

Indeed you never know who will be just beyond the bulkhead.

Paul Newman, Linda Blair, Robert Ludlum, Kieth Richards, Victoria Jackson, Robert Redford, Garth Brooks, Newt Gingrich, James Woods, Rodney Dangerfield, Christopher Plummer.....et al

That is a partial list.
