people, these airplanes are unarmed hurricane fighters. Later on you will see armed planes which attack your sub.

The unarmed ones will report your position

The main losses by airplanes were in late years 1943-1945 but dev team ripped off this part of the campaign.

Also a real air cover can ruin the experience for new players, but it´s not a problem with broken scripts and bugs

I've been overflown by pairs of what look like fighters, but never attacked. Someone mentioned them radioing in your position, but I've yet to see DDs vector in on my position.

I have never been attacked. But I have seen many planes. Usually I can hear them but cannot find them.. I can see them on the map display sometimes there is a pair of them, sometimes only one. I usually go to periscope depth anyway.

Last night though a plane flew over me, way outside range of bristish airfields I was like WTF? This time I found it though. I zoomed in on it and it was a Bi Plane! It looked like one of those biplanes that are launched from a Cruiser or battleship... But I think it must of been from a carrier in the area.

Kinda neat... By the way I tried to find my boat from his view and could not find me. I did order dive to periscope depth though, so I probly was under water too much at that point.

I do not have the game but my guess is that the reasons for non-attacking aircrafts are the same as in SH3 and SH4 and were as well carried by devs to SH5. Those are fairly easy to correct as I have introduced/done for SH3 with dummy bombs and angle of fire for guns on aircrafts.

I also never was able to spot one....but always there was low 3d-clouds and bad weather....

...maybe they stay over the clouds because not want ride the turbulences...
