Can't comment on whether the depth charge explosion sound is the same as the torpedo impact explosion sound because luckily I haven't been on the receiving end of depth charges yet in GWX 3.0. However, I can say that the torpedo impact sound does have the rattling and so does subsequent explosions from a sinking ship.

I can't realy explain how and why, but it seems that something is wrong with GWX3 Depth charges exploding from submarine.wav. :hmm: What's interesting is that when you view the impact with external camera, the sound works as it's supposed to. The wrong sound can be heard only from inside the sub.

Even if I put this file into stock game, the depth charge sound is heard when torpedo hits. And when I put vanilla depthcharge sound into GWX, there was no problem - the torpedo impact sound was heard.

I replaced it with the GWX 2.1 file, and everything is back to normal.

I guess it is a bit confusing.

I replaced the data\sound\Depth charges exploding from submarine.wav with the same file from GWX2.1.

Before that I did some testing, replacing that same file (from GWX3) with the stock one, and vice versa. As I said in my previous post, whenever that file (from GWX3) was in the sound folder, it was heard instead of the torpedo impact sound.

So... When you put in the GWX file into stock SH3, you heard the depth charge sound for torpedoes, and when the stock file was in GWX, the torpedo sound was heard for depth charges?

Could anyone host the GWX 2.1 sound file? I'd rather not have to install GWX 2.1 just to get the one file...

I HOPE the Depth Charge sounds will be changed... no offense guys, as I feel this mod SAVED the SH franchise personally, but it sounds really bad.

EDIT: DAMN double post (crappy work proxy).... could some mod delete my post above and keep this one.

You welcome .
But, I did not upload the file because it sounds bad (it does not IMO), but because of the problem I believe it is causing.

Still don't understand what was happening... I mean, it's just a sound file, there shouldn't be any problem with it. Maybe the game doesn't like its size, or lenght :hmm:.

The SH3 game engine is one of the most unforgiving I have come across.....just ask any MP.
