I carry all electrics. Once you get used to them, attacks are just matters of patience. They are quite valuable for convoy attacks as you can hit something and be stealthy at the same time. They are also useful for eliminating escorts, should one find the need to do so. They also make daylight attacks possible. I don't find there is really an accuracy problem in comparison to steamers, using manual targeting and no weapon officer assistance. I believe this is mostly to do with the torpedo aim glitch described in this thread.

Bow-shot are very deadly for a DD... 1 torp and that DD is wasted specialy the bow, the water will comes in very fast.... and the DD will sink fast...
Wow! Does it works often? Do DD's always fell to this trick and head straight towards you all the time?
What is the minimum range to fire that kind of shot?
And what depth setting you use?

I prefer mainly T1s, at last up until '41 when the stealth of the T2 become more important. The reason is the flexibility of attacking convoys at night, firing at high speed at the farthest targets, medium at medium range and slow speed at close targets, ensuring all four fishes impact more or less simultaniously and achieve total surprise. However, the T2s are great for daylight attacks (sometimes you simply dont have the luxury of waiting for nightfall to attack convoys), so I usually bring 4 T2s t give me a stealthy salvo option.

As for accuracy, the T2 seems just as accurate as long as you are aware of the speed setting bug. However, as somebody else mentioned, the T2 magnetic seem more inclined to detonate prematurely in bad weather.

With a DD coming at me, 400 meters for the torpedo to arm and magnetic under the keel.
