Has anyone had contacts without ships???

On patrol on the east coast of England. I am finally thrilled to see a massive hit and not only many ships but they are heading my way. I dive and wait. At one point I even had a contact move so close by me I'm surprised I didn't get a shave by their propellers. Yet in my periscope, no ships. None. Even the one brushing our bow was invisible!!!!

Almost forgot: here is my mod list. Used the latest ones.

If I remember right, OHII and Expanded Navies both add ships to the game. Not sure if they are compatible together.

They are. Actually, using Expanded Navies, while touching, is a bit redundant, as it was added to Open Horizons V.2.3.

So was UBI actually sharp enough to program in a pod of whales that sound like merchant ships off in the distance???

That's stretching it a bit. LOL Why do think we need to use mods to get SH5 to play properly?

If I'm in "whale or dolphin friendly" waters I always check the hydro myself when I get a sound contact just to check it is actually a merchant and not a pod of sea life...

How close to England were you, and which direction were the ships heading - inbound or outbound?

Ships and convoys are programmed to travel by waypoint. If they were inbound (toward England) and you were beyond their final waypoint there is a good chance they hit that final waypoint and simply disappeared.

You ran into a pack of dolphins; they may be hard to see but they're there. Don't worry, it happens to me all the time, especially in warmer climates
