I think tomorrow will have new update.
Have clean up & deleted all useless and left over TGAs (quite many).
Have adjusted environment (overcast & overcast rainy) for better visibility on conning deck. It was still too dark, and I believe you can see crew man at 2 meters from you even when overcast and/or rain at night :yep:
Have corrected the MX04B guns position (as Fitzcarraldo noticed)
Others minors adjustments.
I think no need to restart career; it should be saves compatible in bunker …

But it's not using ingame emblems choice in bunker...just a small mod to activate depending the boat you are on... like a turm skin only :03:

Fitzcarraldo, I will share the links for all my skins, they are 100% compatible with Fifi's NYGM and Onealex...
The down side is that they are all for the IXB/C subs. Just fine tuning some details.... :yep:

for the Skins I told you that you will find them in the Onealex mode there are plenty of them..
For your hatch problem you must place your torpedo officer.. (or another..)... in the "Commander Raum" room, the functions being Shift+H... Ctrl+H

Yes Fifi really spoiled us with this mode, whether for the weather or the ships, it's all simply remarkable, but I still prefer the old weather, the background is Top all at least for me...

As Kal said above, the skins found in Onealex mod are fully compatible (in his mods folder)
To open the hatch you must have the weapon officer in his command room slot to make it work (shift/Ctrl +H)
I’m not sure yet to import Kiel canal bridge & stuff… but who knows :D
What is sure is I will not import harbors doors lock :yep:
The new GUC emblems seen few posts above are not included in this last update. They are still in test… small issue is any text letters on emblem are reversed on other side (hence unreadable)

I had installed Onealex but I had a lot of CTDs and uninstalled it. FiFi´s NYGM enhancement is working very fine and the enviro is gorgeous in bad weather. :Kaleun_Applaud:

This is the result of so many work hours and tons of tests…
During career tests, my NYGM is so stable here I even can save and reload into harbors or close to ships or close to convoys without any problems :)
(Always save when in Nav map window)

——-> Oh and also revised the crews in barracks for each U Boat… cause noticed the IXB was missing onboarded crew petty officers (the bar was red)
I decreased the specialities given to petty officers (you will have to make patrols to give more) & decreased slightly the men hit points (they can be wounded more easily)

Fifi, Each versions are amazing. Version 2, knocks it out of the park (American Baseball slang for a long Home Run, which is a good thing). I couldn't think of anything NYGM Enhanced v2 could possibly need, except, if my wife throw water in my face to make me feel I'm on the bridge in a storm. I changed the Uboat start heading position to from 50 to 45 degrees and clear the floating dock with lots of room to spare. :D
So far everything is running great and looking very good. :03: :up:

:haha: … version 2.1 is about to be test finished … plenty adjustments made, enforced British coastal defenses (naval artillery) at strategic places, re-worked the Kiel Kanal pre-plotted points to fit new harbor, added a point to enter Kiel Kanal (west entrance) where you stop to launch the pre-plotted waypoints.
Also definitely finished the environment colors (found some incredible inconsistencies) and now underwater colors are perfect to me.
Old environment very dark nights add on mod will be deleted…
Certainly ready for tomorrow :yep:
After that, back to career :D

Only I like to see a more dark interiors, there was a mod I can´t find in my files for dark interiors lighting. Very opressive.

I applied in campaign (middle of the Atlantic) one of the Onealex mod skins for IXB. I don´t see any change. Is it needed to be in port for apply an skin?
Some way to change the skin in patrol?

You should change skins anytime during patrol. No need to be in bunker … I’ve done this many times to try skins :yep:
But I never tried IX type skins, as I don’t play type IX usually :hmmm:
Open with S3D the objects/IX turm dat & the submarine/type IX and see if the tgas included in your skin mod are corresponding to tgas of NYGM type IX…

The skins I have added are from Onealex mod… but hull reflection on water is not correct. If you want correct reflection you have to link the water reflection controller to u boat main node, and delete the regular reflect node (where the 3D model is different from main node 3D model) :yep:

(The window with our different kills, and the camera turning around submarine)
Asking because mine is broken …
Usually after modding (hence activating/deactivating numerous times mods) this camera becomes bugged :hmmm:
EDIT : solved with complete re-install … nevertheless quite strange this camera bug

Not the regular ingame camera, I didn’t explain well…
When you leave after saving, in the next window you can see your results and your submarine slowly moving … I have the results but I don’t see my submarine moving …

Having fun too here in career mode :yep:
Night surfaced attacks are great in this NYGM. You can close up ships or convoys up to around 1200m (maybe closer) by clear nights.
Once I even make successful escape on surface after shooting … full speed avoiding escort path, and keeping them always in my 180°…
Hard but doable!

I don't know but I had problems with my first Install, no way to go back to my backup.. I just put it back together... I finally started....!!! I'll see tonight if the backup works

I usually start my career in september 1939 with the 7th flotile... just if you want to knwo. :03:

What type? Type II & VIIB/C are ok here…

I leave "Already in SH3" in the crew option in SH3Cmdr. If I change to realistic I have the problem of "Too many sailors"...No problem with "Already in SH3" with Type VIIC and IXB.

I'm interested on how you solved this sound problem. Sometimes, I can still hear the sound of the bow splash in the command room, as if I was cruising on the surface, although I'm fully submerged.... :doh:

(Should be bunker save compatible)
- Had to delete the NKSS_Laker for compatibility with others ships
- Backed up the regular NKSS (but enhanced)
- Many adjustments
- Added the Sperrbrecher as harbor escort
- Added others ships missing
- Fixed the hydrophone sound bug
- Fixed the few non moving ships when spawned (like some British torpedo boats in AN55)

There is a problem with the naval academy... I start the mission in the game I just watch with the free cam then I escape from the game...
the mission is validated excellent when I didn't even do it...!!!
good after for me it's not dramatic but it's not normal..
It's still strange that you improve certain aspects of the game and that this kind of problem appears, but who knows...

Yes no big deal, but… if you have problems with naval academy, it’s coming from your own first installation. Probably your game has already saved a previous academy result… hence why all is excellent :yep:
Don’t know exactly where those results are saved, but my guess it’s in your documents/SH3… and I suspect you didn’t clear this folder before installation :03:

This ship I have imported from Onealex was driving me crazy …
He couldn’t follow the waypoints I gave him… like he was completely drunk !
3 whole hours to search… finally figured out his rudder was not turning!!
In fact in his Sim file, the rudder does not correspond to his dat file node… it was from other ship!
It is now fixed, and will be included in next update :up:

It's just a guess, but I think Fifi meant that you shouldn't use more than 256 TC....

You can do the test: along British coasts, run 2 days at X256. You will encounter plenty planes.
Restart same travel at same date, but at X512… you will see only one or two planes (or even none!)
Restart again at X1024… you will not see any plane!
What I do is to play maximum X256 by day time, and when night is coming I can run X1024 :yep:

Welcome to this mod
Reminder, Fifi's mod is a "Hardcore" mod so you won't have the attack card. This is voluntarily replaced by the TDC...
you will have to use the TDC like a real captain to calculate your shooting solutions..
I send you to a video that explains you all it's about Uboat but the principle is the same..

Maintenant les Navires rouiller MFM aurais besoin de "remasterisassions"
si tu peux mettre du fret de bon qualité..(bidons..caisses.) avec de l anciens fret faire un mixe..
les coques certains navires plus neuve... est d autre plus user... les élément du pont habitacle repeints.. avec coque rouiller..je sais Fifi cela représente du travaille... c est toi le patron ce sont des suggestions..
Je trouve vraiment très bon lors du mauvais temps.. il très difficile de torpiller.. voir impossible...je trouve cela vraiment réaliste.. a plusieurs reprise j ai laisser filer des cibles car impossible a torpiller...!! les torpilles passaient en dessous. Pourtant la solution était parfaitement régler..impossible de tirer avec canon trop mauvais temps..attention le temps etait tres tres mauvais 15m:s

Quick question about the Installation doc:
NYGM ENHANCED HARDCORE
VERSION 2,2 Fixed
INSTALLATION :
– First make a clean vanilla SH3 installation
– Install new JSGME and create new MODS folder
– Unzip the NYGM Enhanced Hardcore download on your desktop
– Paste the MODS folder into your new install

– Paste the Screenshots folfer in your new install (so when Ctrl+F11 it goes there)
– Paste the 7 remaining files (with the SH3 exe) into your new install and accept replacement

Also your loading screen says NYGM 3.6 D. Not 100% sure but mine does not have that same text. Mine says"NYGM TW. Loaded via SH3 Commander. Good hunting !"
Could you have remnants of an old install in your documents folder? Fifi's mod includes NYGM and all necessary to run.

You should have 2 separate JSGME.exe's one in the Commander folder with its own MODS folder and one in the main game folder along with its own MODS folder. They are to be treated as separate. The one in the Commander folder should have 2 mods in it which should be activated. The one in the main game folder has Fifi's main mod which MUST be activated along with optional mods to be activated to the players taste.

As Diesel said, there are 2 different Jsgme; one in SH3 Commander NYGM, one in main game folder (hence you should have a MODS folder in the SH3 Commander NYGM, and a MODS folder in main game folder)…
As it is provided in the current download, the 2 mods (clouds variety & escort skins) that are in SH3 Commander NYGM MODS folder, should be already activated … but just make sure they are! :yep:
If they are not activated, game will run without problem anyway, you will just miss environment enhancements & some escorts special skins.
The text in main game window should say: NYGM TW Enhanced 2022. Loaded via SH3 Commander. Good hunting!
If not, there is a problem! You don’t have the correct SH3 Commander :03:

New U-Boat water reflection get rid of 99% of reflections glitches in waves :up:

I want to use yours for the improvements you made and because of the smaller weight of the edited .dat files. My question is this, can I use just the .dat files or do I need your Edited .sim,.eqp and .tgas textures to go with them? I'm assuming their tied to their equivalent .dat file.

No worries, I will try just the .dat files and if they work with Onealex then great, if not then I'll try adding the
Sim files with the corresponding .dat files and if that doesn't work then I'll be out of solutions and just keep them as is.

Yes this is the TDC in NYGM Enhanced Hardcore…from DGUI hardcore by the way :03:
To set parameters, it’s pretty like other TDC… you set target speed (after finding ship speed with the U-Jagd chronometer) using the target speed dial, the ship distance using his dedicated dial, and AOB using AOB dial. Nothing fancy or difficult :03:
Functional dials have their own labels, and you have to unlock them to be able to use them via the round button (changing color when lock/unlock). After all settings done, re-lock the round button (blue color gone).
You can set torpedo depth via dedicated dial, and torpedo speed (slow/medium/ fast) as well as detonators pistols (impact / magnetic)
Don’t forget to open your tubes via the Q key (close tube is W key)
Spread angle is for a salvo launch (more than one torpedo at a time)

The table I think was done by Makman94 some time ago. It is one of several for torpedo speeds. He made up a tutorial for his manual targeting. May be of some help.

Loading of a save game in bunker, after and before a parole works fine, but not every time when I saved on sea at patrol. For example, if I save at sea before completing the task of patrolling at grid XY for 24 hours, loading of this save game works without problems. But when I have completed the task and I am still on hunting because I still have already torpedoes, I can't load the save games and got CTD if progress bar of loading is complete. Sometimes I can read the German welcome sentence with "Gute Jagd und fette Beute" but then I got CTD too.
Only if I load a save game in bunker or before I reached the allocated patrol grid and completing the task there, the loading works.

Rarely the save won't load, as all super mods i've already played. But sometimes save will crash...(never the bunker one).
What i do is immediatly re-try to load the failed save (90% of time second try work!) or if not, i load an other save.
Best for saving is to make sure no ships around (but i already saved with ships around without issue) and preferably no planes (saving at night).
Other than that, it seems it's better to save when you are in the nav map window.
Just before clicking save, ask for weather report, and click save when report is still red...you will return to same weather when loading your save :03:

In Hsie ini file, you can adjust the torpedo failure percentage rate to your liking.
Five bad torpedoes is really no chance!
What I do is prefer the T1 torpedo set to impact at 5 meters… it’s the more reliable way to get kills early war, for any ship any weather :yep:
Don’t think fire will sink any ship in NYGM. Would be too easy to start fire and just wait for damage until sinking :D
Type II AA Gun can sink only fishing boats and the like, no cargoes :03:

I think there is only the "Lagenwinkelscheibe" which offers some similar features.
But the attack disk offers some more possibilities! For me the Lagenwinkelscheibe is more than enough though.

Are you missing the back side of the attack disk. I miss that somewhat. I use an external slide rule for calculations. The Lagenwinkelscheibe I find sufficient to do most of what the front side of attack disc does.
These tools are the only ones I use. I do not use the ROABF or the rec manual.

No.
Stiebler periscope was fitted for Stiebler environment … mine fits perfectly my environment.
If you want to change periscope height, open each turm Sim file, and set to whatever you want the extensible node.
From memory (that was long ago) I just slightly raised the observation periscope (by 0.5 m) to be able to see something when winter seasonal waves.

Just finished an incredible first patrol along England Est coasts...probably the best one i have ever played.

For next update :
- corrected a typo in the SCR campaign file
- fixed the Flower Corvette blowing herself with DC in swallow water
- added an add-on mod with regular (but enhanced) VIIB/C interior, for those PC who can’t handle the full interior (huge gain)
- greatly lightened the crew TGAs (good gain)
- set all the docked ships in campaign files to « not delete after last waypoint », in accordance to the editor manual.
It seems it is recommended, but I think not delete or delete after last waypoint doesn’t make any difference ingame.
Anyway in the doubt, it is done…and it remains a mystery to me!

To set parameters, it’s pretty like other TDC… you set target speed (after finding ship speed with the U-Jagd chronometer) using the target speed dial, the ship distance using his dedicated dial, and AOB using AOB dial. Nothing fancy or difficult :03:

This is part of the DGUI hardcore Gui :yep:
It’s not like the Ahnenerbe gui in Onealex.
You have to use shift/Ctrl U for UZO, and shift/Ctrl V for antenna …
If you have enough skills editing the menu_1024_768.ini you could eventually bring back the same symbols working.
But personally I will not do it, I’m sorry mate :up:

Many adjustments, added some more variety to harbors ships along the time line, added more variety too for the crew heads & body, added the CE lighting fix to the static crew add-on mod (that I forgot last time), but most of all, brought a lot of stability to harbors when back from patrol (had to do the exact opposite to the WAC docked ships settings). No more ships in fire when spawning in harbors :yeah:
Solid rock mod is back without any corrupted saves :ping:

So far loving it! :yeah:
But should be quite harder to survive now… it’s reinforcing the not for your grand mother factor! :D
To quickly resume:
- planes strafing will be more deadly
- destroyers & planes depth charges barrels are falling/sinking slightly faster
- depth charges barrels damage radius slightly increased
- depth charges explosions chock wave increased
- planes bombs damage & radius damage increased

Cap Zap has been kind enough to make the other angles for the sils that's included in the community units addon I'm building. So far he's done the T01,T02,T04,T06 and T13B from the NYGM Iambecomelife's pack. I have to tell you that Cap Zap's work is pretty good for .sils.
Also he found out that the pictures in the previous .sils didn't match what the actually 3d modeld of the ships looked like that's why they look slightly different but now their the correct image. I wonder if the previous author just used a template pic and just modified it for every ship to save time making new sils.:hmmm: Anyways, Cap Zap will be doing/correcting all 47 of the dark silhouette MFM ships in the full version of my community units addon mod. They will all look like the quality below and i'm sure you could use them for your mega mod too since you use the same dark silhouette .sils as I do for MFM ships.

Also he found out that the pictures in the previous .sils didn't match what the actually 3d modeld of the ships looked like that's why they look slightly different but now their the correct image. I wonder if the previous author just used a template pic and just modified it for every ship to save time making new sils.:hmmm: Anyways, Cap Zap will be doing/correcting all 47 of the dark silhouette MFM ships in the full version of my community units addon mod. They will all look like the quality below and i'm sure you could use them for your mega mod too since you use the same dark silhouette .sils as I do for MFM ships.

IIB U-24 third patrol July 1940 from Kiel, 14 sailing days.
Took damages by air attack twice...decided to shorten the patrol after this one ship sunk. Those Hurricanes are damn accurate & dangerous.
For first time ever, after bombs exploding quite close, i was around 20m depth and found myself in the dark for few seconds untill the rescue lights came on :ping: Awesome effect!

I have tried numerous times to load a saved file AFTER sinking an enemy ship with your mod. I have done the double load...first load but not changing anything on first mission and the second load after making changes. I can save as many times as I want BEFORE sinking a vessel, but can't load the save AFTER sinking. I have tried saving up to 120km from the sinking, but no luck.

That’s strange, I can save and reload everywhere anytime here.
That’s said, I don’t know the mods you’re using … maybe something related.
Did you delete all your documents SH3 before starting ?
Also make sure you have correct starting dates (year month day hour minute) in your documents SH3 data Cfg careers name patrols_0cfg …
This is a SH3 known bug, if you have all start dates to 0 :yep: (it will not register anything)

In looking over your mod list I do not see anything in there that might cause an issue. But not sure what this XXI Battery fix is for. :hmmm:
(I downloaded this mod and if you are using XXI Flak and Battery Fix.7z by
VonHelsching, then this file is older and any updates to the type XXI would have been updated already in Fifi's NYGM Enhanced. I do not think you really need this mod.:timeout:
I would suggest a reinstall of everything, making sure your Stock game is working before installing NYGM full version. Then installing the mods one at a time, checking to see if that mod is causing the issue. I know that NYGM works just about flawlessly well on the saves.:yep:
Hopefully a reload will solve the issue for you.:salute:

Thanks very much for the suggestion to not load the XXI battery fix. The save worked and I get to keep the 23k of the sunk aircraft carrier I encountered on my latest mission.
Without the XXI battery fix loaded I noticed that the batteries don't fully charge (maybe 5% less than 100%, that's why I have been using that mod) but the chief engineer continues to attempt a full charge. By clicking on the standard propulsion box the submarine returns to the standard speed its supposed to be traveling at minus that last 5% of the charge. I can live with that.

The XXI battery mod issue is beyond my limited capabilities. Maybe Fifi can look at the mod and see where the issue may lie. There is a conflict causing it to CTD on saves.

Then got damaged by planes attack (hurricanes) so was time to go back home...in the Channel near Calais, was detected by British torpedo boat, so dived to escape...when i hitted a mine!!

2 men badly wounded, batteries destroyed, both periscopes destroyed, hydrophone destroyed and flooding to stop & evacuate...
No more batteries, so had to lay down on ground to start reparations...but didn't know those damn torpedo boats can hear you! Was again detected, and they called their friendly destroyers to finish me...
Of course we immediately switch for silent run (but not running!) and after few depth charges attacks (badly keep going down my hull percentage) they lost my contact (thanks to Stiebler swallow asdic mod!) and probably thought i was crushed. Had also 3 more men wounded by DC explosions...
Then had to wait the whole day on floor (still having ennemy patrols above us) to finally blow the ballast at night...and restart the only diesel remaining!
Made it back home the closer possible to French & Nederland coasts, and finally lost my 5 wounded men, cause without medic aboard, after time they died!! (didn't know this feature!) Hull below 50%.
That was so close to the end, i almost hitted the surrender button when depth charged...but fortunateley i didn't :)

IID U-139 7th patrol 11 January 1941 from Kiel, 17 sailing days.
Had to cross the Channel to reach patrol grid...and back.
The most famous epic SH3 patrol i have ever played :doh:

Then got damaged by planes attack (hurricanes) so was time to go back home...in the Channel near Calais, was detected by British torpedo boat, so dived to escape...when i hitted a mine!!
Result:
2 men badly wounded, batteries destroyed, both periscopes destroyed, hydrophone destroyed and flooding to stop & evacuate...
No more batteries, so had to lay down on ground to start reparations...but didn't know those damn torpedo boats can hear you! Was again detected, and they called their friendly destroyers to finish me...
Of course we immediately switch for silent run (but not running!) and after few depth charges attacks (badly keep going down my hull percentage) they lost my contact (thanks to Stiebler swallow asdic mod!) and probably thought i was crushed. Had also 3 more men wounded by DC explosions...
Then had to wait the whole day on floor (still having ennemy patrols above us) to finally blow the ballast at night...and restart the only diesel remaining!
Made it back home the closer possible to French & Nederland coasts, and finally lost my 5 wounded men, cause without medic aboard, after time they died!! (didn't know this feature!) Hull below 50%.
That was so close to the end, i almost hitted the surrender button when depth charged...but fortunateley i didn't :)
Sure, you were extremly lucky ! :shucks: Because if I know some cases where a u-boot took a direct bomb hit and survived (while surfaced), I don't know a case where a u-boot survived a mine-explosion (especially a type II u-boot !), even if some crew might survive if in shallow depth...

It is possible, but too much work for something I don’t want (20Km atmosphere makes the game too easy, and I don’t want NYGM too easy)
Keep in mind real life horizon line for eyes is about 15/16km…and actually you can spot ships in clear weather without sea mist at 16Km :yep:

Had to cross back and forth the Channel to reach patrol grid (without big troubles this time). Found an inbound convoy near patrol zone...tanker blow up at first torp, other cargo needed to be back to finish him after escaping depth charges runs. Lost a dud torp on lonely ship before finishing my work.

IID U-139 9th patrol 29 May 1941 from Kiel, 18 sailing days.
Last patrol on type II, was assigned the command of new type VIIC U 451 at Brest.
Got damaged twice by hurricanes (hull 91%) but saw Spitfires, Beauforts & Beaufighters planes too, along Brit coasts...
Once in Brest harbor, an air raid of half dozens Beaufighters blow up 2 Germans ships there. Never saw such intense air raid yet :o They were not sitting ducks like heavy bombers!

VIIC U-451 10th patrol 27 July 1941 from Brest, 15 sailing days.
Got damaged by merchant deck gun, when trying to finish him.
Got damaged by convoy CAM ship plane (hurricane) for first time...too late to dive, tried to use the Flak gun but my watch officer was wounded and died.
Launched my last torpedoes once underwater, but was too far and convoy turned away. Destroyers soon came up, and was badly depth charged for 2 hours (Black Swan DD is a real threat :doh:)

For next update, I have adjusted the Allies air coverage for 1941 & 1943.
It’s 2 little mods, one for 1941 to activate on top of stand alone starting 1941/06, and an other for 1943 to activate from 1943/04.
Of course, when activating the 1943 one, you’ll have to deactivate the 1941 one :)
I could have made it via SH3 commander, but saves between those dates wouldn’t load and bring unexpected CTD … so best is via little mod to activate while in bunker :yep:
Now with those mods, you should encounter planes threat according to the Nav map chart (Allies convoys & air coverage)
Best remains of course playing TC x 256 for day time to avoid the famous SH3 erratic course bug at high TC :03:
You should even encounter planes attacks when leaving Brest harbor day time, Lorient harbor in a lower occurrence, and even probably St Nazaire…
Edit: also fixed the air coverage from Gibraltar missing from 41/07 to 43.

For Brest & Lorient harbors, planes are waiting for you for sure, but it can be when reaching highs seas, or closer, or even closer just at the harbor!
Type IX is a real challenge as this big baby isn’t fast to crash dive :ping:
Left Lorient for first mission, and 2 hours later my hull was down to 80% due to bad hurricane strafing … and it is only end of 1941 :timeout:
Didn’t tried St Nazaire yet, but it should be slightly the same (maybe less because it’s further from GB airbases)

Yeah, those IX's are not practical for attacking convoys either, better suited for long undertakings looking for lone merchant and tankers, especially tankers in the Caribbean, South Atlantic and such. Slow diving, and not as nimble as the VII.
I always have a finger on the "C" key :yep:, as soon as the watch sites an aircraft (matters not if one of ours, theirs or UFO) its crash dive time. Most times I am able to avoid any consequences. Later in the war, things become real interesting. :doh: :wah:
I refer to them affectionately as "Pig Boats". :03:
