Great work DrJones !!!
This is one of the best MOD for SH5 !!!
Excuse me for my bad English :O:
I have read many post but I have not see how to activate the RAOBF (or it is removed ? :06:).
I'm testing Your MOD with a part of Sober list and I find some little bugs (little things) whith teleport.
Do You think to realize a little manual of You MOD ?
It's possible to change the style of the line to trace the course ?

I think you mean the pencil lines.
Look at the the mod from obelix the io strategic map...i think there a different pencil lines to get for that what you mean..

yes the teleporting is a little bit buggy. Still do not know how to fix that.
This is a native bug in SHV that can sometimes happen if you teleport to a station you have not already activated.
I found that if I manually visit each station prior to using any teleport command, the teleport commands function correctly so it may be a simple fix by ensuring all station scripts are loaded on game start.
I think you mean the pencil lines.

No, with the lines of the course is not so simple! Line - individually, hand - individually. And for each variant line (during the laying of the course, the course is paved, off-course, etc.) uses a individually files.:yep:
Just use one of the mods to choose from: IO_MapCourseLine_normal pencil_mod or IO_MapCourseLine_sharp pencil_mod from a set A_set_of_mods_for_IO_map (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=2877). Each of them only changes the course line, so they can be used with any other mods.:up:

here is a special question for the artist of graphic design...
i am still in the need of help from you. i am still working to get the attackdisk running and i have the problem that the touchpads are screwed up by turning the items.
As i had a look at radcarpicorns threat about mouse movement he pointed out, that the images has to be squared textured.....but how????

Hey Mates,

Hey Mate,
there are no changes in the menu.txt
changes are only the image and the binocular.ini.
It is only useable with the magui interface because of its own filestructure

EDIT: Just a suggestion not to use national languages while posting in this (english) SUBSIM. Personnally experiencing some discomfortable feeling when looking to posts in german, french and etc. that I didn't know. If it is PM - than it's OK

- The Mapgroup item in the lower left will not any more apear by leaving the nav map or any station. It will only be visible if it has to be

Found little bug my friend. When I get to the obs. periscope and then I leave it, remains on my screen the torpedo control panel.

Another problem I have with this panel. I have to drop the agent. I get closer to the coast, the classic "stock" table is displayed. I will closer to the coast, I click on "verschieben" and I will later drop the agent through a new icon, but it does not work. I click on this icon, but nothing happens. Can you please fix this problem?

As i look at your pictures...tell me wich version do you use?
If i have a look at the second picture, it shows up a really old one.
In the last update the lower left Console looks different.
Please download the actual version and try it again.

Hey Mate,
when you are in a friendly harbout and you want abort a mission go in the lower right console in the upper part.
there you will find the anchor symbol you can click on to return to port.
Just have no screenshot to show you.

Now we have the 'Parts Magui Beta v3.0' and I'd like to ask if you think that even this version would be compatible with the 'Schleichfahrt' just like the 'CSP Magui Beta v2.0'?
I have done a test run but what I can see after playing about 1 hr is that e.g. the pen (for writing lines on the nav map) is missing.
BTW, thanks again for an exquisite UI :up:

Yes there is not really a problem to use this with schlechfahrt.
Why you have an error like that i dont really know. that is something what has to be asked to uekel...but he is still along time away from forum.
One Problem you have with schleichfahrt is the fact that the radiomessages from tfw, which are included does not work with schleichfahrt.
we should wait for uekel.
Did you try Sobers Mod List so far???

Oh yes, many times. :yep:
Still, I'm right now testing various Mods List just to stay updated to be able to support our mates around here.
Guess I should PM Uekel or just leave the Schleichfahrt with CSP v3.0 for now until Uekel shows up again.
But it's really too bad if the CSP v3.0 wouldn't be compatible with the Schleichfahrt :wah:

gamefront.com is not available in many countries now or in other words, many countries are blocked..
PS: someone advised to use the Hotspot Shield (http://www.hotspotshield.com/) to gain access to gamefront..

1. Make sure you have your mouse set to turn the periscope. Line up and Lock On to the on-coming target. The XO will say he's following your Target.
2. Now Break Lock. . Click #1 to Turn TDC On.
Now lock on to your target again. The recognition manual will now show and you will see your target. Figure out what type it is if you can, and look to see what it's Draft is. Remember it.
3. Now Break Lock and click on #1 to turn off the TDC. TDC On should now show... this is TDC Off. Go back and line up your shot before your fire the torpedo you've selected. If you leave TDC On on you've just wasted a torpedo, as it will not follow thru to the target you selected.

Hello and congrats for this awesome mod! I'm loving it but I just cannot figure out how to set up a fast 90 attack with your mod.
Previously, I used to sit at a 90 degree angle from the predicted target course and at a known distance from such course; then I keyed in the TDC this distance as range, the speed of the target and an AoB of 90 degrees; finally I adjusted the bearing in the TDC till the gyroangle read 0, and waited. When the target came to such bearing, I fired the torpedo and I expected to hit it as it passed accross my bow.
With your mod, every time I change the bearing, it changes the AoB too and I just cannot figure out how to zero-out the gyroangle like I used to. Also, I have an hard time understanding what the gauge on the left of the AoB indicator in the periscope or UZO view is: it looks like one of the two gyroangle gauges but it behaves differently.
Thank you for your help and suggestions, I am surely doing something wrong here but I cannot get on top of it. :/\\!!

Also, I have an hard time understanding what the gauge on the left of the AoB indicator in the periscope or UZO view is: it looks like one of the two gyroangle gauges but it behaves differently.

GameFront isn't available for all of us. GameFront has restricted lots of countries.
So, would it be possible for you to link the TDW Add-on mods to Mediafire instead?

Yes, because i removed it out of sight because i build up an own recognition manual...
Click on the captains face in the lower menubar and on the captains panel wich is opening click on Erkennungshand...wich language pack is installed?

After loading this mod to a clean stock version of SH5 updated with V 1.2 patch. I get a large white area in the middle of the screen when the game is running. Making it impossible to use any of the controls. I added this mod with Jonesoft Mod Enabler. I have tried reloading several times after deleting the mod, but after reinstalling, I get the same results.
I was looking forward to having a SH3 type interface.

Other thing related to hydro: it doesn't say merchant/warship/unknown in the hydro window...just a little point "."
Last thing, when i take the UZO, and leaving the station, all the DTC stuff is staying on screen.

What parts of the tdw patcher are conflicting with this ui...that the notepad at the hydro does not say what it is merchant/warship unknown can be fixed by reading the instruction by tdw for the patcher, that there as to be done some editions to the menu.txt. I will add them soon.
Tell me please what you are exactly do when you leave the uzo station. Do you use the exit button in the location indicator in the left console or are you pressing esc key..

Yes i could, but it's very simple: i sit at the hydro station, i see contact lines in the TAI, i click on the hydro guy icon (buttom right bar) and ask for nearest contact report ---> icon non avalaible (greyed).
So he can't give me report...even if i don't sit at the station BTW.

You don't need to place patcher's files to the root folder of the game..
Patcher is standalone app and you can place its folder wherever you want..

Found out it work better with mod activated.
Just clic find boats and build identification manual (or whatever it's called).
Then in other tab, adjust your TAI and nav map settings.

Are you trying to start SH5 from: C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\sh5.exe ?
Does it take you to the Uplay launcher?
If yes - can you see the Silent Hunter 5 image there?
Or
What happens if you start the Uplay launcher directly...?

That was the problem... thanks. I was using an alternative copy of the game in a separate directory for the mods, and maintaining the original installation in vanilla. The SHschiffe.exe points and searches to the path stored in the installation recorded parh. That was the error. I think I don´t need anymore a vanilla unmodded version :)

Click on the captains face in the lower menubar.
if the captens board is opened choose the point recognitionmanual and it will open.

I now know the reason of this.. because of Chalkmini.off.. we already have Chalk.off and Chalk.dds in Russian Fonts Patch.. now we need the localization for the Chalkmini.off and Chalkmini.dds.. I don't know how to do it..

AH yes...now i know what you mean...yes for that there will be some slide in charts...in the stations views there are a lot of places to put them in...but there will be some changes in the design...still working in the t lampen tafel and another tube control panel...

Game was patched to 1.2
I guess Keyboard Deutsch Mod 0.6f and DBSM_Speech/Music dont affect ur Mod
When i sort the probs with ur Mod out i wanna try it together with Schleichfahrt Mod.

WOW! Just got everything sorted out and Magui is drop-dead gorgeous! Gorgeous and smart and compliant and friendly and exactly what it should be. This is a keeper! Ready to marry this one and start a family!
It works fine with Schleichfahrt v1.0. Just a drop-in. (Although I made a hash of it and it took longer the first time. Don't ask!)
I also have it working with MiTon's Speech Recognition v0.4 for Stock. That did require a minor tweak - merging menu.txt and menu 1024_768.ini. Not my files, so I don't think I can share without permission, but the merge is easy. And then speech rec works with just a click on the lower right button in the same lower-left pop-up cluster that brings up the TAI.

I've got a dumb question on CSP Magui 3.01. I've not fininshed the 1st campaign yet but once I do I want to switch from 2.0 to 3.01. Will my campaign continuation still work, or will I need to start from scratch at the very beginning again? It's all I want to change. It isn't overwritten by any other mod, but will end up at the bottom of my mod soup, which shouldn't be a problem I hope.
Oh.... about this SH5Schiffe.exe app. Is it in 3.01 or is it a separate mod? I guess I'm not following correctly on where you find it to launch it. :oops:

App was included in the mod's folder Gary.. you can find it in the game's root folder after the mod install.. and you should launch and set up the app before you'll start the game..

Thanks V. I do have the 3.01 mod but figure I'll get it installed after I finish Coastal Waters. I'm almost at the end and figure I have almost gotten the required tonnage with the patrol I'm on now. I just sank a 31,000 ton Queen Elizabeth Battleship east of Scapa Flow, and need to complete my patrol objective NW of Lock Ewe.

I am now trying to start a campaign with MaGui v3.01 and Schleichfahrt v1.0. I am trying to avoid the tutorial by modifying CareerHistory.cfg and using "silentotto". When I do, I get CTDs. I can start the tutorial OK, but I'd rather not. Is there a way to skip the tutorial with these mods?

DrJones, your interface is wonderful. Great WW2-era look and feel. Steam gauges, toggle switches, mechanical actuators. There is a distinct difference between German and, say, American engineered products of the period. You have captured that uniqueness. Kudos.
I have a question. There is a bearing tool in the right-hand margin of the nav map. I can't seem to find any way of rotating this, so it can be used as designed. Could you (or anyone else) please tell me what the hotkeys for this are?
BTW, The compressed air gauge on the consumables cluster doesn't seem to function, at least in my VIIA. Is this a known bug? I couldn't find any mention in this thread.

Thank you very much....yes the tool in the right Hand of the navmap is still not turnable...it is just a protactor...but to make it trunable is a good idea...i put it on my list of all my other todos...

Your implementation of teleportation is exactly the same way I made it work in SH5. Coincidence? I think not.
If that code had been placed in a .dll file by me where noone could have seen how I implemented it and you came to the same implementation that would be a different story. But since it's clearly visible in a .py file and you came to the same implementation I have to cry foul.

Remove the icon from the interface is not necessary.
You need to disable it if the game settings turn off the camera external review.

Hello Dr. Jones, I trying to refit my boat from a supply ship, but the icon never becomes active on the HUD in the lower right side of the screen.
Also I don't know if I'm just missing this or what, but are the a pause button somewhere? I'm a little slow drawing out thing and it helps to have one. also when you send your crew to battle stations they are no sound or no way to tell if they are at them.

Hello Trevally, I've got that before, without this mod though.. I've ran circles around the u-boat trying to get the pop-up. I saw that resupply button in this mod thinking that may be it.
edited to say. Today I restarted the the save game and they was two supply ships now, so i moved to the other location and the lower left button became available. I clicked on it and got the pop-up to refit.

the Switch for the Travelmode can be found on the captains Panel...
You can make it visible by clicking on the captains face in the lower menu bar...

So, when the mod is enabled, after a few minutes the following problem appears:

It is like the hud is frozen. After the start of the game everything is fine. But when the bottom-right menu slides in and then klicking at watch officer and for example the deck gun, the menü won't slide out (menu-fixing disabled). Another problem is, when i go to periscope and/or uzo and then leave the station with esc, the tdc and torpedo tube controls stay on screen. Both things happen "random", means, sometimes after I entered the Station second or third time (not first), same for the "menu-slide-problem". The stuck-menu thing concerns only the bottom-right menu the others work fine, no matter if this menu is stuck or not.
Result is, after a random time in game, it crashes with ctd. For example when in klick on load game or when i get near Kiel harbor after the first mission in baltic sea (time acceleration x8 or x256 doesn't matter).
It happens also when the CSP Magui is enabled on a vanilla-version of SH5 without other mods.
The above mentioned mod-combination (Schleichfahrt) runs fine, when the TDW UI is enabled instead of CSP Magui. But i prefer the Magui, excellent work! Any chance to get this problem solved?

I tried Nvidia-Driver 314.07 and the newest 314.22 with no luck.

I recognize your problem and I've tried several times to get SH5 running with the Schleichfart + CSP Magui and never got it running :nope: Like you I prefer the CSP and if there is some solution om how to get it running with Schleichfahrt I beg you all mates around to share it with us.
Could you please report back (or send me a PM) and let me know if you get it running.
As for the Nvidia driver I think the 314.22 is the most stable one. Beware! There is a new 320.00 Beta out now - DON'T TRY IT, it's just crap.

I also run Schliechfahrt with TDW's New_UIs. In both cases, I put only the UI mod itself inside the "Schliechfahrt sandwich." I put all add-ons to the UI mod after Schliechfahrt part 2. I may have picked up this tip from someone on this forum. (If so, thank you and I wish I could remember who you are and give you credit!) In any case, it works.
Another tip: I run both Schliechfahrt modpacks at reduced graphic quality. I have a middle-weight machine and it can't handle the load. I have not tried to find the optimum setting. I just strap everything down to the minimum. To my (perhaps uncritical) eye, it still looks pretty good! YMMV. I set the SH5 graphics options to the "Low" setting, except for AA, which I turn up full. I set my graphics card settings all to "application-controlled." And on the Compatibility tab of the Windows 7 Properties dialog, I check "Disable visual themes" and "Disable desktop composition."
This reduced graphics quality may not suit everyone. But, as I said, it looks good to me and I can play the game without CTDs. If you try this approach and it works, you can always improve the graphics quality incrementally to achieve your own balance of appearance and stability.

"STOCK KBD" is just the stock commands.cfg file. I don't want to have to relearn the key bindings for different mods, so I just drop it into the mod's Cfg folder. That shouldn't create any different behavior.
Did you dial down the graphics quality? If I run with the high settings, I can't use Schliechfahrt at all. It will CTD on loading.

Yes. I tried with maximum and minimal graphic settings. Loading is not the problem. I start new career, skip tutorial. When entering the base, I check if I can klick on the options to equip my sub, if not... reloading. If everything is 'fine' I start the patrol (loading screen comes up).
And then, when I am at the subs bridge and I click on uzo and then leave the station. the tdc-controls freeze on screen like in the posted screenshot above. And when i slide out the officers-menu (bottom right) and klick on an officer (e.g. watchofficer and THEN e.g. on the deckgun), the menu will not slide out of the screen and freezes like the tdc-controls (wich are still clickable).
Maximum or minimum graphics settings doesn't matter. I can't see a difference in game behaviour.

Running an Dell Alienware M11X r3. 17@1.70 with 8GB and NVidia 540M. Tweaked-up mini laptop. I am mobile much of the time, so I need a very toteable machine.
I use No Logo on my Sober's-based modlist. Don't need it with Schliechfahrt - load graphic is a U-boat entering the pens. And I prolly don't need the German Language Pack with Schliechfahrt. But I thought MFCM was built into Schliechfahrt, so I didn't need to add it. Am I incorrect?

This is getting really weird
With a rig like yours you shouldn't have any problems running SH5 with that mod list :doh:
I'm slowly beginning to suspect a corrupted JSGME install, don't be alarmed.
In case you'd like to check this - follow these steps (Credit goes to Webster who made this instruction)
Step 1
Deactivate all your game mods with JSGME
Step 2
Move the "MODS" folder found in your games main directory folder
to your desktop so it is no longer there (or just delete it if you don't need the mod files there)
Step 3
Run JSGME in order to create a brand new "MODS" folder in your games main directory folder
Step 4
Replace your mods in JSGME by opening the "MODS" folder you moved to your desktop and copy the mod folders one at a time in the desktop's "MODS" folder and paste them into the new "MODS" folder you just created in your games main directory folder
Don't move the whole desktop's 'MODS' folder - just the mods - or you will move the corrupted backup files too.
Moving the mod folders one by one avoids any chance of moving the corrupted "hidden" backup files along with them.

I don't know about the stock version. This is the disc-version I bought at release or relatively short after (shame on me, i know ^^). At that time, my machine was struggling to run the stock game at minimum details (Thinkpad-laptop :D) and it was buggy (yeah, I know that story since SH3) and I think you all know too :03:. After a short period of time, I stopped playing SH5.
Today, I have this above mentioned machine and I decided to install SH5 again and look for some mods (thanks again to all modders out there, you are amazing!). I haven't played SH5 really long since I've installed it. And when I've played it, I had mods installed. For that reason, I can't say anything about the stability of vanilla SH5. But there is one combination that works (from what I can say at this point) more or less stable.

So, this configuration seems to run fine. Currently I can't say more about it, because I have not much time to play at the moment. I know, that some of these mods were already included in MO, but I thought that updating the files (like e.g. IRAI or FX) maybe runs fine :D. I had one or two ctd when I used time acceleration near harbor (Gdansk - Danzig was it, when I remember correctly). After reload, no ctd at that port) Maybe a mod-conflict, don't know.
I also tried a little different load list without FX, IRAI, OH2 etc. and i could go from Kiel to the British Coastal Waters and from there up to Scapa Flow, sneaked inside and sunk one Tanker and a Battleship or something like that ^^. All without ctd.
Well, sure, I played SH5 a couple of times. But most of that time it was testing, testing and more testing :doh:. Sometimes I ask myself why I don't stop wasting more and more time with that game. Maybe because it is so nice to walk through the entire boat from first-person view :).
The max. graphics quality is not the problem or maybe yes, for the game engine -.- I really don't know. Or is it possible, that SH5 has some problems with anisotropic filtering and FXAA set in the nvidia control panel for the sh5.exe? One time I ran it without that but ctd yet.
Apart from this, all of that what i wrote can't explain the Magui-freeze problem I have. I tried Magui with vanilla SH5 (v1.2.0), same problem.

EDIT: No, when I think about that again I guess this is not a problem with JSGME, because I already reinstalled SH5 serveral times with new created MODS-folder und copied the mods into it but not one at a time. :hmmm:

One more note: Conus and SteelViking's graphics mods share many files, indeed. Nonetheless, it is possible to use both of them letting 'SteelViking's Interior Mod V1.2' to overwrite 'Conus' Graphic Mod 1.1' shared files. Their mix don't give problems and it is even better looking than SteelViking's mod alone :up:

In various ways.
Besides many interior textures wich are also affected by SteelViking's mod, Conus' mod enhances the following items:
Damage and torpedo management interface
Torpedo settings interface
Various UI dials
Stopwatch
Radio messages interface
Captain awards
National flags
Crew uniforms
etc.
