Repaired WWII submarine U.S.S. Cod to return to Cleveland

The U.S.S. Cod is now battle-ready, so to speak.

The historic World War II submarine, which for the past eight weeks underwent hull repairs at Erie’s Donjohn shipyard, will be towed back to its Cleveland pier on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

Paul Farace, president of the U.S.S. Cod Submarine Memorial, said an actual hour of departure is yet to be determined and will depend on weather conditions and whenever its designated tugboat arrives.
