I got dc`ed to hell and back by some destroyers, but managed to evade them for a breather. During the decent I noticed that the boat started sinking by itself if I ordered periscope depth. I blew ballast lots of times to maintain 100 meters.
I fixed all the minor damage, and stopped all flooding. One of the fore torpedo tubes was completely destroyed, but the flooding was gone, so it could not be that? I fiddled away for a long time, all the time struggling to keep the boat from plummeting into critical depth, while at the same time praying that none of the depth charges hit me while I battled this strange problem. After a long time I got a little distance between me and the destroyers, sp I gambled on surfacing. This proved to be a serious problem, since the boat would not respond unless I went flank speed and blew ballast at the same time. When I finally got up, I noticed what was wrong. One of the tube doors where blown off! This is a first for me. I started recording after battling this for a long time on the surface, and the compressed air was very low. Vid: Anyone had this happen to them? It was really cool! PS: One of the destroyers followed me for two days(!) before finally catching me. At this point I made a U-turn (no aft fish) and charged him head on. It did not go well. RIP U-95.
