I recently started a new career (29th Flotilla Dec '41) and found my crew lost their voices! Has anyone had this problem? I cancelled the career, deleted SH Commander, rebooted, and started the game from the SH icon. When I started a new career again, the voices were still missing. When I saved and exited, the GW's red main menu still displayed the banner "Started by SH Commander". Any suggestions?

Sometimes, some of my crew sounds like they have no balls at all. Maybe this is a standard feature. :hmm:

Teho: Sometimes you get a crew member with a Mickey Mouse or Hulk voice. Personally I think it`s funny. I remember when I saw Das Boot there was a guy with a very high voice. Remember some of the U-Boat men were very young. |

Check out this thread i started after i had this problem. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=95309
Now, maybe there are some useful suggestions in there for you. For me they did not work and i wasn't able to figure out what caused it as nothing had been changed prior to the problem starting. Never did hear if anyone else just suddenly suffered from this aswell..... I eventually had to turn to a new install and i'm still picking out the bits and pieces from several mods to get back to what i had. So, i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you mate.

When I add mods or change things and they work I just update my backup copy Always have a vanilla instal too in case I need the files If you read the threads that belong to each mod - you wont go far wrong I know in one of the other " no crew voice " threads that a complete uninstall - including the SH3 folder in my documents solved the problem |

One reason for lost voices and sound effects is through setting the "Character animations", "Sound effects" and/or "Particle rendering" Time Compression TC events to 1. TC is easiest changed via SH3Cmdr, hence why a lot of people with this problem quote SH3Cmdr as being involved. So ensure this is not your problem first.
This is outlined prominantly in the SH3Cmdr FAQ. If you have changed these TC events, simply change them back to the default settings of 4, 2 and 8 respectively and voices will be back. |
