I started my first Mod for Uboat.
Changes the texture of the torpedoes and the icons so that they look the same. Added a rusty look to the Torpedotexture. Added also a new Icon for the Mine. Due to the fact that the Uboat Developers use only two textures for the T1, T2 and T3 Torpedos, also including the FAT and LUT ones, i could only provide two textures for all of these models. I decided to use the T2 texture also for the T3. (Maybe some of you guys is able to determine the script in the game where the list of torpedos is linked to the textures, so that i can make new textures for the different variations.) Download via Steam at : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil...?id=3423669357 Enjoy Jimimadrid |

Hi,
i changed the rust texture for a better quality in third person view. My graphic card allows me only to play the game in a lower resolution to get enough fps, so i did not take care of this problem. Hope this looks now better. Thanks for your info my friend. regards jimimadrid |

Hey D"Jimmy...
I'm glad to see you involved in modding again.. Thanks for your quick update...I'll try and keep you informed.. Yes: I play in 4K Oled "Alienware" A formidable image precision...I see everything ah. ![]() ![]() However the devs have really made progress but there are lots of annoying little things that taint the experience... a huge potential let's be patient it will eventually happen... Graphically it "buries" the series SH.3.4.5... Thanks for the work D"Jimmy see you soon ![]() Last edited by Kal_Maximus_U669; 02-10-25 at 04:13 PM. |

Hi Kal_Maximus,
i never stopped modding. I also have done mods for other games, Flightsimulator, Starfield, or the WDS Civil War Series. Yes, my intention was to change a few things in Uboat, especially in the Gui. But, Uboat is a head-scratcher, it sucks. Some examples: Unfortunately, the attempt to create a relaxed atmosphere for my sailors during the long voyage looks like this. For some sailors, the magazine appears upside down. Of course that looks stupid. Even though I use high-resolution textures for the pictures, they look washed out in the game. So this Mod is not usable at the moment. ----------------------------------------------------------- I can only get the textures of the game using the Uboat- Inspector in Steam and building a mod with the Unity-Editor. Unfortunaly i'm not able to get acces to scripts or all textures. Only a few textures are showed by the Inspector. The result is that i can only change a few things in the Gui. In this case it seems that there is one texture for two notifications, but changing the texture it appers only in the above notification. That means that the other texture is not shown by the Inspector. I do not know if we have people here with deeper understanding of the Unity Engine so they can help me to understand more of the mechanics used by the developers. salute, jimimadrid |

Hey D"Jimmy ..
See his screens ![]() ![]() For your problem maybe see with guys from the UBE team..they seem to know how to approach the subject with this game in modding... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Only a few textures are showed by the Inspector. I'm starting to understand why the boat has bad physics..(UNITY..)...why the sky especially the clouds are strange..??.. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Kal_Maximus_U669; 02-12-25 at 04:10 PM. |
