New Zealand Navy looses ship

Hydrographic survey and dive support ship HMNZS Manawanui struck the reef she was surveying and has caused the ship to list heavily and catch fire.

All 75 crew onboard have been rescued

There are unconfirmed reports that the ship lost power prior to grounding.

The ship used to be a North Sea oil and gas support ship called Edda Fonn, it was purchased for $103 million in 2018 and converted in 2019.
