TWOS + Uplay SH5.

It has been a long time (a year or two) since I last played SH5.

It seems UPlay updated my game this morning, and now when I load the game the first thing that appears is the Ubisoft logo and music.

I cannot start a new campaign or continue an old campaign as my game CTD's without any messages.

I have read that TWOS won't work as the update Ubisoft put out meant no mods would be supported.

So what now? DO I buy it on Steam, or is that still using UPlay? Rather disappointed as I was excited to play the mod.

Don't buy anything. Read install instructions which can be found here and reinstall the game+ mod... https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/dow...o=file&id=4861

I'm having trouble with my uplay.

I installed it, and it runs stock fine (V120). I installed to c:\uplay\games\Silent Hunter 5\

I changed the sh5.exe to run as admin all the time, and changed DPI scaling to override for Application (I have a 4K screen).

Set Uplay to always run offline mode.

Stock game runs fine.

I then installed TWOS 2.2.20.

Tried to run, uplay wants an activation code.

Let it go online mode, game launches now, but I just get the splash screen with spinning wheel in the bottom-right corner of it.

Docs say it will take a long time to load....have waited for a long time but nothing happens.

If I am reading your question correctly, you are saying that you to launch the game and you get stuck with the small window that has the SH5 cover image on it and the circle at the bottom right of the small window just keeps spinning with no words or anything on the bottom left of the window and you are not in the game?

Are you experincing this in game? Or are you not in the game yet?

After installing TWOS, I can't get in game. I just get the splash screen.

When I click "Play" inside of Uplay, I get this:

The little wheel in the bottom right spins and spins and spins. I have let it sit for 2 hours and the game never loads.

If I try to launch the SH5.exe executable directly, I get:

And if I click "go online" then it asks for an activation code.

Try doing this:

This removes Uplay from SH5 and you should be able to play your game.
DO NOT click the "Play" on Uplay. Launch DIRECTLY from the sh5.exe by going to C:/Uplay/games/Silent Hunter 5 and clicking on the .exe

Thank you, I believe this is what made it work.

The installation instructions that get installed as part of the modpack say to replace the sh5.exe with the DVD version, but the installation instructions at the top of this thread do not say this:
