Support WELLL GUYS!

Well fellas' after a lot of trying, I am at last at sea and attacking the English. It has taken me a fair while to get here and for a lot of reasons. So far my enemy has no worries with me, as my torpedoes' go just where thy want to! I am now back to the reliability of the "automatic system" I know that this subject has been mentioned before and I know where, however, in game, the yellow markers that appear when one has his enemy in sights are supposed to turn GREEN when it is ok to fire! Has or does anyone use this system here please??

I just cannot work out what circumstances cause the markers to change.. I have had my targets well in my sights for ages and STILL the marker stays yellow.. (Just so's yer know that locking on and off system is not working for me!

Hi CD
Most likely cause possibly would be your angle to the target.
Locking on to the target and firing would cause your torpedoes to miss as by the time they reached where you aimed for the target would have moved.
If you are using the 3 circles then your range would be more limited to within their range.
Locking on to the target with the space bar, unlocking the target with the space bar and firing should give you a high percentage of hits as long as you remember to have the torpedo doors open before you press the fire button otherwise you will miss.
Another reason for missing is if you have given your torpedo man promotion points.

Hiya bud! I was not aware of the tube doors here skip.. I have found the key that "floods" the tubes. There ain't one to open, so I guess this is the same! I don't use the three circles, but this brings up another point here ..distance! I understand your sub has to be not less than "3000" yards from target to shoot. There is nothing to tell you your distance that I can see other than the TDC ..which does not give much info anyway??????

The 5 switches above the tube numbers.
The switch must be in the up position for the tube door to be open.
You are not limited to 3,000 metres, you can take on a target at 5,000 metres as long as you are positioned correctly and have the right torpedo and speed.
3,000 or 5,000 metres the same principle applies.
Lock the target.
Unlock the target.
Fire.
The gyro angles are automatically calculated at any range with Auto TDC.

Hi CD
Yes, I forgot with Auto TDC no switches as the tube doors are done automatically.
Check out YouTube videos for silent Hunter 5 Taff in Exile as you will find them quite useful.
