I want to give NYGM a try. I've played LSH and GWX. Now I'm ready for something new and really challenging.
I'm having a little trouble with installation. Following this link http://www.subsim.com/mods1/nygm/ So, where I am confused is this: I downloaded all of the recommended mods. Installing the first 6 items.. one of them is "3rd Flotilla Mod". So these are all in my MODS directory. However, when I go into the "NYGM Tonnage War V2.5 - Stand Alone Version" folder, into the documentation folder, I see a whole bunch of other folders that look like mods.. for example, "3rd Flotilla Mod" is there.. Do I move this mod out to the main MODS folder? What about all the other folders shown in this folder "1500 meter bearing overlay", etc.? Am I supposed to move each one of these from the documentation folder out to the main MOD folder? Sorry, I'm a little confused ![]() Jeff |

This is really confusing.. trying to install the Steibler add on.. not sure if I should have the old add on already installed. I think I'm supposed to go into the old add on, get the patched exe file bring it to the new add on, patch it again..?
However, that old add on had many things like menu changes. Should my MODs include both: \Supplement to V16B1 AND \Steibler4C_Addon_for_V16B1 ? Sorry for being dense, I'm just totally lost with all the readme files! |

Hi, those mods in the documentation folders are optional, none is required to play NYGM (afaik) so dont worry about them.
just install the required mods according to the instructions in the correct order. About the Steibler4C_Addon_for_V16B1, yes you need a sh3.exe file previously patched with HSIE exe fixes. To be honest, i dint mind too much about the additional changes made by the Steibler4C_Addon, so i dint installed it (its optional). I just installed the regular hsie exe fixes and assorted suplement for hsie. Note that you dont need to do the changes described in the hsie docs to the menu.txt or campaign files. NYGM allready has them. In the end, your mod list should look someting like this... NYGM Tonnage War V2.5 – Stand Alone Version NYGM3_New NYGM3_6F NYGM_2017A IABLShipsforNYGM_New_Thomsen Supplement to V16B1 NYGM_HiRes_Submarines_3_6F here is my full current mod list for reference: NYGM Tonnage War V2.5 – Stand Alone Version NYGM3_New NYGM3_6F NYGM_2017A V16B1 Patch with EnvSim* NYGM_HiRes_Submarines_3_6F Rubini´s Underwater dust&plancton v1_no blur sobers real smoke darker and a brown tint1.1 M.E.P v6 Widescreen MaGui v3.4-SA WideScreen MaGui v3.4-SA FIX for NYGM v2017A** optional-stopwatch with speed lines for Widescreen MaGui v3.4-SA MaGUI Tweaks V1.1 Restore Contact info-4-NYGM (MAGUI)*** Map Bearing overlay DasBoot Cheers DasBoot Music Mod * V16B1 Patch with EnvSim is a mix of the hsie fixes, with the aditional envsim.act i ciombined. You can do with just enabling the weather fix in hsie options selector. ** WideScreen MaGui v3.4-SA FIX for NYGM v2017A: only required if you use the MaGUI UI. its a modification i made to the magui fix for nygm, to adapt it to the new nygm 2017a version. *** Restore Contact info-4-NYGM (MAGUI): A little mod i made so that radio contact reports show their bearing (NE, ESE, etc) and speed (slow, medium, etc) on the map again, As nygm removes this. Thanks! I think I got it working now. I guess I won't know if I did the Stiebler changes correctly until something happens lol..
Also. Does "Hitman Optics NYGM 3.6 (Fixed)" eliminate some of the eye candy of "Hitman_GUI_NYGM3_1.1"? Reason I ask is I like the Hitman UI... but the "Hitman Optics" seems to remove the ship chart on the right side as well as AOB thing. Just wondering if these two mods are compatible or if I did something wrong. |
