After sinking 1 merchant, a destroyer came up and I sank that too. That was followed by 2 more destroyers then more. They ultimately circled and followed me and would not let up. There was no escape.
Is the general strategy to AVOID destroyers completely? Also, does lying on the bottom eliminate destroyer Sonar effectiveness? Thanks - Don |

My destroyer policy is "Well, I'm probably in a wolfpack, so someone else will surely handle that destroyer. I'll just go 8000 km this way instead..."

If given a choice, leave destroyers alone and save your eels for the merchants.

Under certain circumstances, it can be beneficial to sink destroyers, esp those positioned on one side of a large convoy.
The AI may not adjust their positions accordingly so you can get free shots at the ships in a convoy from one side. And also because the AI is retarded lol. Just dive to very deep (100m) or more and travel at most 2 knots if you wish to escape them. |
