Moron Congressman Wants to Give Chris Kyle the Medal of Honor

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/c...uphill-battle/
No way. Chris Kyle did not show valor above and beyond the call of duty. The Medal of Honor goes to people like Audie Murphy, Henry Erwin, and Jack Lucas, not people who just did their jobs particularly well and became celebrities.

Do you expect anything but idiocy out of congress anymore?

I am starting to like that they take so much time off, they can't break anything worse (than it is) that way.

Just another case of another flag-waving politician try to make brownie points and political hay off the reputation of another person. He probably thinks this effort will look good in his re-election campaign ads...

Well to be considered persons that witnessed the act/s must write up an award recommendation far as I know a member of congress dose not have that power.

There are numerous SEALs that actually did earn a MOH which I might add has nothing to do with kill ratios in fact there are MOH recipients that did not kill a single enemy solider during the action they where rewarded.

There is also a single case of a MOH SEAL later getting saved by another SEAL who revived an MOH for the rescue.

EDIT: Man this android tablet loves to double post me. Open a second page in any browser and bam it posts it. Anyone else have this issue?

I am 100% certain, that if Chris Kyle were here, he would drop kick that dummy for suggesting such an absurd thing.

Kyle knew, as all current and former military know, The Medal of Honor, is NOT a popularity contest award.

I don't know if you ever watched Homeland, but that is exactly what the VP in the series did with the rescued POW (Damien Lewis plays an American better than most Americans) to try to win an election.

As much as he did for his country, I do not see anything that would grant him the MOH.

Yeah, this is just a legacy theft for votes. Abusing a tragic situation for political gain should fall under the Stolen Valor act.

http://www.military.com/daily-news/2...valor-act.html

If this scumbucket wins an election he can make a lot of cash, piggybacking on a veteran. Stolen Valor, while not impersonating, he is still abusing military personnel for financial gain.

I wouldn't go as far as Stolen Valor, just say 'No'.

I think everyone wants on to the Kyle bandwagon atm.

While I don't hate fox news, I think they are trying to milk his story for every moment possible.

Yeah it is a stretch. It is still just as despicable IMHO.

Stolen Valor is a law that covers expressly a person making false claims of military service or embleishing their actual service history in order to recive a financial gain. The person also has to claim certain things for example that they where rewarded a combat medal(bronze star, silver star) when they did not in fact recive such awards.
I'm just posting this as a good number of people misunderstand what Stolen Valor actually dose.
Here is what the bill/law actually covers
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stolen_Valor_Act_of_2013

So basically it means that the crazy dude that makes silly stories up while still morally wrong he is not breaking any law. That also means that the posers you find in public are not violating any law either until they do it to make financial gains. I recon they could be charged with impersonating an officer if they where claiming to be one. Of course they simply state that they are a military reenactor.

Now what Son Shipley dose I like he dose it right. I have seen other "stolen valor" videos some like the Ranger who calls out a man posing as a Ranger are OK as you can tell that the vet was genuinely angry. Others that I have seen to be honest I'm not sure if the video makers are vets or the type of vet they claim to be either.

https://m.youtube.com/user/Buds131 Shipley

mall guy

sure this guy is a slope these guys are not Army either how do I know? They question why he dose not have an airborne tab along with his Ranger tab. Obviously they do not know that the Airborne tab (school) is not a requirement to being a Ranger. So for them cause they are either not military or massive pouges.

Don't get me wrong I have no or problem with someone calling outva fake but at least do it professionally like Shipley dose have some military bearing.

Yeah I know Stealhead. I was just searching for something, out of anger.

Mall guy was my favorite, just because of how angry the hero of that saga got at the end, to the point his wife had to calm him down.

It is gross to make a legacy off of someone elses service, and any politician who does so deserves something done to them. He will most likely get re elected, because in his commercials he will state that he stands up for the veterans, and loves our American heroes

*cue My country tis of thee playing while Chris Kyle pictures and the American flag waving*

Jerky McJagoff For congress, this message is approved by Chris Kyles corpse, and you hate America, and veterans if you DO NOT vote for ME!

I'm not so sure. It's been proven that he lied repeatedly to promote himself.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/kyleclaims.asp

He claimed that he punched Jesse Ventura in the face. In fact, Ventura never even met him, and Kyle's estate lost the slander suit that Ventura brought.

Kyle also claimed that he and another person sat at the top of the Superdome in New Orleans during Katrina, and sniped looters. Umm...no.

He also claimed that he killed 2 men who tried to carjack him in Texas. No evidence has ever been found for this.

Strange how none of this made it into the film.

Given this blatant dishonesty and lack of character, I think he'd jump at the chance to claim a medal he didn't earn.
