Tom Clancy died in a hostpical in Baltimore at the age of 66.

Tom Clancy was a writer, who wrote seventeen bestselling novels. His work typically dealt with espionage and military storylines often related to the Cold War. In addition to his numerous books, his work inspired movies like The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, and The Sum of All Fears and video games like Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. He was the co-founder of video game developer Red Storm Entertainment.
