Just purchased SH5 on dvd

So after doing some research on the topic I was advised to buy SH5 on DVD even though I have it via Steam. I then bought it for 10 bucks on Amazon so my question is now what? Will my Steam copy conflict with my new copy? Also I purchased the DVD because of the patch that Subsim has but was told that the patch does not work for the Steam version. Any help or advice would be great on what I need to do because I have the DVD on my desk but do not want to install until I see what the community says. Just to let you know I have experience modding the game and I have the Generic mod enabler installed from my Steam version of SH5. Thanks in advance for any help
