Returing to SH5 - Some questions

Hi All,

I am coming back to SH5 after many years now.

I just re-downloaded SH5 and activated the game on Uplay. Uplay downloaded my old saved games. Am I to assume that mods will work given that I cannot complete the tutorial and I have already a bunch of saved games on the server?

Finally, there are too many mods to chose from. So, what is the best mega mod for hardcore play with external views on to enjoy the sites when there is no action?

The answer to your question is, there is only one way to find out.

Personally I would not bother.

To days main mods TDW’s NewUI and OHII are far in advance to what you were previously playing with.

When you accompany these with some other mods then you will get the experience of ‘Game Play Immersion.’

The path to your ‘Saved Games’ are in:

Documents Folder

SH5 Folder

data Folder

cfg Folder

You can check them out by the date and time

Can you see a Career History File?

This has the SH5 tutorial in it.

If it says ‘False’ change it to ‘True’

This will then skip the ‘Tutorial.’

You can also investigate this path

Ubisoft

Silent Hunter 5

Logs

This will contain your saved games and you can delete them.

I delete mine every time before I load SH5

I see the saved files but do not see a career history file.

Under the SaveGames folder, I see files starting with 0000000 to 00000007. Do I delete all eight or is the 0000000 folder the career history file?

I also do not see anything under
Ubisoft

I was looking to download Sobers Mega mod but it looks like I cannot use external views. Any recommendations on which mega mod I should use to get me started with all setting set to 100% real vs. the external views or is it better just to test as I go along?

start the game when u finish the tutorial exit from game .... and then u can see it.

PS. is better to load the mods after u do this step ....
