Default Sub interior too dark

.. I'm all for realism, but I'm not simulating a blind captain am I ? What could be causing my interior to be this dark ? Adjusting gamma is not a good option. Gamma is fine for other purposes, see second picture.

Any thoughts ?

You can adjust the interior light inside the boat only using gamma option..
It's easier to adjust light outside the boat.. just use some DynEnv add-on mods to make it darker.. in your case just disable DynEnv v2.9 - 5.e Ambient Settings - Brighter Nights-No Murky Waters and (if it's needed) enable DynEnv v2.9 - 5.c Ambient Settings - Darker Nights-No Murky Waters..

Should I read that as: adjust gamma until interior is visible, then get the DynEnv mod to get outside ok again ?

Doesnt make a difference .. even with gamma all the way up, that volume knob is invissible. Is it hard to get an extra lightsource in there ? Or change the intensity of the current one ?

What is "shapetexturescolors"? Its kind of odd that yours is so dark, I'm running the majority of the same graphics mods as you.

If so, very much depends on your monitor, GPU card etc.. I played this game at three different monitors and the TV.. each time the brightness of the picture was different.. so everyone needs to customize for themselves..

This is not entirely true. Data\Cfg\Lights.cfg contains many parameters affecting both interior and exterior luminosity. The problem is that environmental and U-boat interior mods generally affect this file with their own settings, with the result that they overwrite each other. If after having adjust your monitor's and in-game gamma your interior is still too dark, try merging the light settings of the mods featured in your mod list and add your touch-ups, if needed

That's definitely true: a bunch of factors contribute to what you see renderend on your screen in therms of lightness, contrast, gamma and color dominance

This file is found in sobers Realistic contrast V6 SH5 mod or
sobers Depth of Field (DOF) V6 SH5.

I just did .. used same value as for outside .. works nice, except that the volume knob of the hydrophone stays too dark and thus only detectable through tooltip... do you guys see that knob ?

Yes.. I know.. I just suggested the easiest and fast solution in my opinion.. when I changed monitors I always used this solution because it was simple..
