Silent Hunter 5 Gold Edition

Does any one know if any mods will work with this edition and is it me or is 5 missing more then half of the commands of 3? Is there away to tell water depth or a return to course command are any of these I guess advanced commands in 5 at all?

Water depth is under the custom or advanced depth meter in the lower left corner; the return to course blue icon is to the right of speed ribbon between the compass ribbon in the lower left corner. I have the gold edition and you can mod it.

Not how deep you are but how deep the water is under the sub like in 3 I could ask how deep the water was so I knew it was safe to travel under water.

I don't see any blue button except the one that centers the map on the sub.
I don't think there is a return to course. This is one of the reasons I have been asking. I think the only way I can get this to a playable level is to find some mods that will add these advanced commands.I am so glad it was free and no I don't mean stolen free.I had gotten a free coupon and with that coupon I bought 3 games.Perhaps you could take a screen shot of the button or command you are referring to!

First of all mods work with the Gold Edition. I'm running sober mod list with Gold Edition. The only difference to the "normal" edition are 3 additional historical non-playable AI U-Boote.

I tried one mod and it seemed to screw it up so I thought before I tried again, I should ask and get some help. I would like to be able to install the mod that gives us the SH3 Interface.

Check out SH5 mods thread for all issues.
use New UIs for TDC. see link at end of reply.

TDW patcher has option for depth under keel.

depth under keel and return to course works for me. I do not recall if it is just the two mods mentioned above; or my voice recognition and fixing the commands.cfg so my commands do not override other mods.

Sobers list is great. Fifi and Sjizzle started threads with mod lists, too.

Any mod even the most simplest mod makes the game unloadable. In your gold version is your ability key to battle stations F8 or F7? And do you have the compass with the return to course? Mine Gold edition is F8 retail is F7 and I have no compass or return to course.

I think instead of trying to make this digital gold edition workable. I will just download the retail edition and use my key with it.This will fix many of the problems like the return to course and compass and it will allow mods to work with ease thanks all for your help but until they patch the digital gold edition It is unplayable.
