Default SOS, Fuel Supply ?

Hello,

I have a problem, I'm very far from a friendly harbor and need fuel. How can I send a kind of SOS and asking a refuel boat ?

Thanks

One point...the map is in KM and your speed is in nautical miles. You may be all right.

You can also take advice by Trevally
Quote:
Save game and note the time that you saved and then exit to desktop.
Open your docs and goto here - C:\Users\Owner\Documents\SH5\data\cfg\SaveGames
Look for your save game (by date and time that you noted). It may not be the top one as those are auto saves - normally 3rd one down.
Open that folder and look for - GameplaySettings.cfg
open that file with notepad and it will look like this:-

[Current]
LimitedBatteries=true
LimitedCompressedAir=true
LimitedO2=true
LimitedFuel=true <<<<<<< change true to false
RealisticRepairTime=true
ManualTargetingSystem=true
NoMapUpdate=true
RealisticSensors=true
DudTorpedoes=true
RealisticReload=true
NoEventCamera=true
NoExternalView=false
NoStabilizeView=true
MPShowPlayerNames=false
MPShowTorpedoes=false
NoShipHealthBar=true
NoGunProjectilePath=true

Change the line to say "LimitedFuel=false"
save file.
Load your save game and you will have unlimited fuel so you can reach port and either dock or refit.

You can then change your fuel settings back to limited.

I saw before it but it's more like a cheat code and not a realism stuff.

What Id like to see is :

• Send a SOS
• Wait
• Manage a rendezvous point if possible
• Wait
• See the Fuel-Sub/Boat arrive
• And refit / manage small repairs

On the other realism hand, it didn't work that way. Unless you were very close to home port they wouldn't respond to an SOS. There were resupply subs ("milk cows") but they only became available in March 1942 and the last one was sunk in June 1944. They were sent to specific locations and not available for 'SOS' work.

On the other hand Trevally's idea is a good substitute. If the game doesn't have something that was there, it's not cheating to put it there, if only for one trip home.

Just do what ya gotta do to survive. And that means doing it as Trevally says. And be more aggressive too.

In some campaigns you can ask your radio officer to ask for resupply
