Default need Hull damage info.

Playing GWX 3.0 Gold at a very reduced resolution 1024 X 800 something on a wide screen (24" ) and all is working except the % hull damage-- which should be at the bow. Tried a few things and still no hull % damage.

Is there a key stroke for this?? Speaking of key strokes that one of clicking on the SHIP as you view a ship and having the page flop open is GREAT.

Thanks for your help.

GWX removes this from SH3 by eliminating the text on line 589 of /SilentHunterIII/Data/Menu/en_menu.txt
GWX version = 589

To get it back, edit line 589 to return it to the stock SH3 version
SH3 version = 589=HULL INTEGRITY %s %

Or use the SH3 Commander check box to show hull integrity.

The quickest way and easily changed at the click of a mouse button.

I added SH3 Commander and went through the list of "changes " that could be done and selected " % Hull damage " to show from hide and after several depth charges from many encounters NO showings were noted.

So after that patrol I pulled in to the Spanish port of Cadiz to "re fuel and re load" and checked my settings. I did add a few minor changes to water clariety and wave hieght to see what that would look like -- AND then
my vision was GONE. Total mess of dark shadows when I attempted to leave the port area. Trying to save and leave was a NO GO so I had to use CTRL+Alt+DEL to exit and restard my computer.

Going bact to the leaving the base at Cadiz was just fine" inside the Room" but I could only get my visuals back by UNINSTALLING SH3 Commander and reentering the patrol again.

So, not seeing the % hull damage and having a minor issue has me wondering if I messed up or need some ADVICE from you folks.

I did down load the latest 2.7 SH3 Cdr.

Thanks

First question, did you install the required GWX .cfg files in SH3 Commander?

Did you perform a rollback with Commander before rebooting the game?

Default Lets try this again

I have no idea where or how to install the .cfg files in to SH3 CDR, or if they are really needed. LOTS of help here if I am going to find those and instal them.

Do I perform the Rollback just once before restarting SH3?

Or do I have to Rollback each time I exit the Game SH3?
And is this done just after exiting SH3 by "calling up the SH3 Cdr icon"
after exiting and performing the role back then.

Please keep helping, you folks are being very helpfull to this "old warrior" who will soon turn 76 and loves this game.

In the SH3 options>General Setting screen you can set Commander to automatic rollback.

Take the 5 GWX .cfg files and place them into the cfg folder found in the SH3 Commander folder. When you place them in the folder, a message will come up saying these files already exist and asking if you wish to overwrite them. Say yes and the GWX .cfg files will be installed. This only applies if you are using GWX 3.0.

Start SH3 Commander and click on the wrench to get to the options screens, then do what Jimbuna said, and you will not have to worry about doing a rollback, it will be done automatically for you.

From the GWX website (available via clicking on my sig)
  1. SH3 COMMANDER users: press the "Rollback SH3" button and exit SH3 Commander.
This will remove any modifications SH3 Commander has made to your Silent Hunter 3 games files. You don't need to remove SH3 Commander, but AFTER you have installed GWX3 GOLD, please make sure you are using the latest version and have installed the GWX3 Config files for SH3 Commander.
  2. JSGME users: disable all mods and exit JSGME.
JSGME will be re-installed when you install GWX3 GOLD. IMPORTANT - if you want to keep any mods you've used with JSGME, please make sure you back up your 'MODS' folder (default location is C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\MODS )
  3. Open 'Add or Remove Programs' in your control panel, and remove 'Silent Hunter III'
Alternatively, you can use the un-install option on the SH3 DVD (on the menu that appears after you insert the disc).
  1. Make sure the un-install process has removed the following folders:
  2. The 'SilentHunterIII' folder in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft
  • The 'SH3' folder in 'My Documents'
  1. If not, delete these folders. IMPORTANT - deleting the 'SH3' folder in 'My Documents' will delete your existing career files. However, an existing career will not work properly with GWX3 GOLD anyway.
  2. Re-install Silent Hunter 3.
  3. Apply the latest patch (1.4b).
If you need guidance on which version of the 1.4b patch to use, please read these notes.
  4. Download the GWX installation files to your desktop (or wherever you wish to store them).
You must ensure all 8 installation files are placed in the same folder.
  5. Run 'GWX.exe' and follow the installation instructions.
If this is your first installation of SH3 (GWX must be installed on a clean installation of SH3) start from the third 2 Re-install Silent Hunter 3.

Hi Jim! It's been some time... and undoubtedly you seem to be quite restless when it comes to giving instructions. Be well. See you around.
