I'm 99% certain I've seen that website before, but welcomed another look nonetheless.
![]() Amazes me how there weren't more bent props!

There are so many to choose from but my favourite plane was amongst them so I've gone for the 'brick/banana bomber/Buccaneer'.

I was surprised to see only one photo of a Mosquito down in the dirt low level combat flight being a realm that Mosquitos dominated. I saw a TV show about the Mosquito and they talked to many crewmen and pilots it was very common to come home and discover that some French shrubbery had been gathered during the mission.Of course who has time to take a photo during combat under such conditions?

No photos of Lysanders though, but I think SOE would've disapproved if there was.
Or it's equivalent, the Storch.

Two things I'll give the french credit for. Getting a U.N. resolution before going to war, and low flying. Their low flying videos filmed in (mostly) Chad are amazing.

You'd be surprised how tough those props where. It would have been a rough flight to say the least with the prop all chewed up.
The P-47 was also one tough bird as well what ever it took to take down a P-51 multiply that 10 fold and you have just put a dent in a Jug and annoyed its pilot. |
