I'm confused. Didn't he die a few months ago? August, I think?

TLAM got there first. Now I know how Buzz felt.

If you look at the articles comments section you'll see that most of them are also 4 months old. Apparently CNN just put today's date on an article they published back in August.

Edit: we really need a shoulder shrug smiley....

Really guys, this isn't hard to explain. If you look to the bottom of the article, you see a link to a compilation entitled Obituaries 2012: The Lives They Lived, which appears to be a standard end year compilation of those we lost. This article has been linked as part of that compilation.

http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/world/obituaries/index.html

Click on Neil Armstrong and you'll be taken to the page linked in post No. 1.

Maybe he rose again as a zombie and has finally been put down?

The BBC do a similar thing, they'll edit a piece for some miniscule information or a typo and republish it adding 'edited on ####'. You flick through the latest articles and there it appears.

The link suggests it is indeed an article from 25th of August, as do the 4 months old comments. They probably pollished up the article for end-of-year reviews. Somehow this update changed the datestamp at the top of the page. It should have reveived an additional update timestamp.

Nevertheless, for ever remembered:

Neil Alden Armstrong, 5 augustus 1930 – 25 augustus 2012

Sir Patrick Alfred Caldwell-Moore, 4 March 1923 – 9 December 2012
