Default Help I am blitzed

I finally picked up SH5, as part of a package thru STEAM, along w/SH3-4.

I found this site via forums of Ubisoft; But the more I read and search, the more I am overwelmed. I have a munber of questions. Is "mediafire.com" the place where some of the UIs are downloaded??? Are there readme files for the UIs to tell one how to use these Mods?? I have watcheed several videos on UTube, including Stoianm's multiple and his are baffling to me; there was a 3 part video he did on navigating intercepting, that was almost 40 minutes and very involved. To much for me. Now before I ask for advise, ARE these mod(s) compatible with Stream versions or are there some that are not??? I've seen others ask this, but no difinitive feedback that I could find.

Okay, I want a mod(s) that will give some new "bells & whistles" but not not as involved as a lot of Stoianm's seem to be. And, this big, I want an add-on to make the manuel targeting somewhat easier!! I just haven't been able to get the hang of that yet. ALso, the mod I hope will have some old dials and controls. Also, I have done very little modding, and I very illiterate about so much of it.

I hope some answers can come, and if so, thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard!

Start here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=192374 and all shall be revealed.

There is no easy way around it, you'll need to read a lot! When I first started out I felt the same way. Sober has done a great job selecting the mods and has links for everything.

Grab a bag snacks, a cold pop and read. It will all pay off.

PS: Not sure if you can use the new exe patches on the Steam version or not. Someone will jump in. If you can't order the dvd. It's a blast.

It is up to you how involved you want to be into the game.
Any of the SH series can be both: very realistic, hard, complicated and simple point and shoot. It is up to you.

On some of your questions in regards to compatability and download areas I already answered in your original thread in another subsection of this forum.

I'm not sure what "bells & whistles" are, but there are lots of mods around here

I would agree with Segwin - you'll have to read a LOT; depending on what do you exactlyu expect from the game that is.

If modding and reading bother you - I would recommend playing a little bit as it is, learning the game as it is starting from scratch (no manual targetting) and going from there.

As you progress and read more about the mods and the game - at that time you can decide whether you want more or not.

Sorry all. This is one reason why I never buy Steam based games unless I have to.
But as i noticed the other mods will work with the game an the modded game will be awesome also.

yep, agree.

I think a bit of reorganization would help though. Many good mods/tec threads gets burried waaaay too deep. (thankfully sometimes they crush through the stuff above em and shine, but still)

gap's 1 degree mod is the brightest example atm.
