your cpu will do but you definately will have issues with a 8600 card so upgrade to at least a 460 or better in the 1gb or higher onboard ram, that should make a huge difference for you.

also with 3 gb ram you aint got much left after the operating system uses up 1gb by itself so you should max out the limit to what your motherboard can handle which is most likely 4gb so see if you have open slots to add a 1gb stick or if you need to replace a lesser stick that is installed. ram is so cheap now i would suggest you buy a 4gb set of ram (2x2gb set) in the highest speed your motherboard can run since most computers arent built using the fastest or the maximum ram they can handle.

you have an old system and sh5 is needing a little better computer then you have so if you max out the ram and get a decent video card that has its own large ram capacity then your marginal system should be able to run the game without the ctd or at least they will be few and far between when they do happen.

also if you are running a 32bit operating system then apply the 4gb patch so your computer can use a full 4gb instead of being limited to 2gb which is what 32bit operating systems are set up to be limited to.

last point is if you have a lesser system that has trouble running the game it is criticle that before you play you do a full cleanup on your computer to clear out all memmory storage that has been used, do a disk cleanup and run spyware cleaners, make sure its defragged if you have been downloading anything. it doesnt seam like much but every bit helps when you barely have enough to do the job

I would also say to

a) update the MO to 0.0.2 patch (you can find it in the same thread)
b) get rid of MO completely. There are waaaaaay too many changes been made to most of the mods on the list, which might be causing you the CTDs when some of the files are rewritten with newer mods.

I would also strongly recommend to look at sober's mod list, and amazingly ballanced compilation of mods in the right ammount and proper load.

Make sure that you are patched to 1.2
Make sure that if you are using TDW's EXE Patcher you are not using it on Steam version.
Lower graphical settings. One of the major thing - Vertical Sync is OFF!

well, and let us know if you figure it out.

well, sober's list is not exactly a mega-mod; but it is a list of mods that he is currently using and that work well together from him own observations.
If you take your time, read the his instructions, and be not afraid to learn something new - you'll have no problem getting it running

I'm Not sure, but i think for this System the 3gig Switch is the One to use. The 4 Gig switch, as i know, is for 64bit System, but the sh5.exe Stock exe is already prepared for using more then 4 gb

Just a little update.Today i played with some of mods from sobers mod list. And the game didnt crash for the 2 hours I played it.So that was nice suprise!I put Vertical sync off as recomended. Also i instaled that antilag mod to my Silent hunter 5.Was that correct or should i remove it?
Now about sobers mod list i do have some questions.Dynamic Environment SH5 Basemod (normal ) V2.1...i used this but the nights are just to dark for me.So was wondering if i use Brighter nights how the correct order should look like?Like this or:

Dynamic Environment SH5 Basemod (normal ) V2.1
Dynamic Environment SH5 Brighter nights
Dynamic Environment SH5 Skycolor fot fix Darknights

Also about Open Horizonts do u suggest i put full mod or considering my low pc spec i use light version?

The better order is:

Dynamic Environment SH5 Basemod (normal ) V2.1
Dynamic Environment SH5 v 2.1 - Skycolor Hotfix #1

And Open Horizons..
Try to use only OH-II base v2

Dynamic Environment SH5 v 2.1 - Skycolor Hotfix #1 - http://www.mediafire.com/?gaqesn7akwdwkyb
