Suddenly started Crashing to desk top now

I suddenly can't get SH5 to run anymore for unknown reasons. I've been happily playing for months and I'm now in the western approaches theater and it crashes as soon as I click on the full size navigation map. Sometimes it crashes immediately after the game finishes loading.
I see Uplay has changed, I make sure I'm off line before I start the sim.
I haven't added any mods or made any changes, don't know what the heck is going on. Any one else?
