I think it's the soul of fanaticism. When you know beyond all doubt that you are right and your cause is just, any crime in its defense is justifiable. These people are no less terrorists than the ones who committed the atrocity in the first place.

I fail to see how "hoax" applies to 911. It must be an amazing fantasy world where the twin towers didn't fall down, and men didn't land on the moon.

A fantasy based upon the need that everything has a higher purpose. If they can't find a higher purpose, they make one up. Cause, the idea of dealing with the raw reality of it is too much to bear or accept.
