Hi! First of all i want to say im new to SH, i tried the demo at a friends house and i liked it so much i ordered myself a copy from amazon. now while waiting for it to arrive, ive been reading up on all the mods and stuff, and i gotta say i initially found my way here while looking for help with some of the numerous glitches. What im wondering is this: i seem to understand theres an official ubisoft patch that fixes some of the bugs right? if so , how big is this patch? Because i dont have the internet at home, and im getting the dvd by mail..

What the DVD does is upgrade to version 1.2, which is your starting point. You don't have to do anything for this to happen, as it's automatic as long as you have an internet connection running while you install, which you will need anyway. After you install and upgrade (auto-magically), you'll be free to play offline.
But that's where the FUN starts, because that's where you want to start adding the mods that really make this sim great. There are a ton of them, but I suggest you start here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=190656 The rest is just learning the ropes, and that's what WE'RE here for! ![]()

That's gonna be a bit tricky then, can you move your machine to somewhere you can get an internet connection, just for the patching process? The mods will be a bit easier, you can download them from a friends pc and put them on a disk/card to bring them home.

This is the text from the log of the auto patcher (thought it might help);
Trying to get update information to C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Local\Temp\ubi8F7.tmp. Found update (Patch, all, all). Trying to download update file from http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/silent_hu..._5_1.02_eu.exe. Destination: C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Local\Temp\ubi124B.tmp.exe. Successfully downloaded update file. Verifying downloaded file's CRC: 375c75d9. Expected: 375c75d9. Starting update file (C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Local\Temp\ubi124B.tmp.exe) At least that gives you an address from which to download the patch, if not how to apply it ! |
