How is it that I hear waves and wind while submerged?

And I swear I haven't been drinking!

So there I am, submerged at 40m, trying to listen to the hydrophone and I keep having to fight the urge to yell at the XO to shut the dang screen door already!

Seriously, though. It is a mite distracting, not to mention the immersion doesn't quite work for me with the sounds of waves crashing against the conning tower following me deep below the surface.

Just in case it's self-inflicted by me making a mess of my mod soup, I have the list here (yes, I know, the scope mod shouldn't come at the end, but it doesn't modify anything but the New_UI and I really couldn't get myself to disable all of the rest, put in the scope mod, then enable them again. Last time I did that, the game menus went Spanish on me. I kid you not).
