How is it that I hear waves and wind while submerged?

You will hear wind inside the u-boat if you alt+tab out of the game. Next time you load the game the wind sound will be gone.

I've never Alt+Tabbed out of the game, and I still hear it sometimes. I don't know the answer, but I suspect von schatten is probably correct.

Isn't it the same tc-related problem with the Ölzeug the bridge crew keeps wearing although the sky cleared up?

It's not a bug, Ölzeug is also protecting from icy ocean winds

The bug is when you load the game (or when rain starts to pour)during storm and the watch crew does

not wear Ölzeug, you have to cloth them up, like your own kids, to save them

from catching cold =]

It's funny, though. This post didn't really belong in this forum since I was experiencing it in SH5 and I put an edit up once I realized my mistake, but I've still got a bunch of answers here as opposed to none from the SH5 one.

Also, you're absolutely right. It's apparently something that carried over through the various new versions. Reloading did take the problem away, thanks!

Being an old Silent Hunter vet, it warms my heart to see that SH3 is still going strong because, let's face it, it's an awesome sim. I don't know how many hours, weeks, month, years I spent fiddling with that one and playing it like crazy, I even bought a new copy because I misplaced my original, and I still love to drag it out and dust it off.

Memories... Glorious memories.

Yeah he's right about one thing it's stock Sh3 issue
