Hi there,
im running the North carolina Battleship mod, and im sick of only being able to shoot the targets closer then 8000, i was wondering, does anyone know how to increase the firing range? i have tried to do some tweaking myself but with no results, whatever i do it doesnt affect the firing range i want to have a realistic battleship encounter with other battleships at long range not at puny little 8k meters 1 thing that i belive would help, if i can increase the detecion range, not sure if this has anything to do with it, but at 8kmeters my crew confirms that its an enemy ship and then opens fire, further away then 8k and the radar is the one detecting them not my watchmen i did try to increase the detecion range in the sensors.cfg but that didnt do anything please help me ![]() |

Take the cfg files from one of my ships. That will allow you to engage ships at 15,000-25,000 yard range. Changing the crew coefficiency files will give longer detection range and increased accuracy. Again, you can get them from my ships.

It`s not a file. It`s in a file. The "ShipName".upc. Every compartement has it`s own coeffiecency. Open, let`s say the USA_Montana.upc. Copy the coeffiecency from the Montana into the USA_North_Carolina.upc.

im just guessing here, but wouldnt that be bad?
isnt the settings in the montana.upc made for the montana? and carolina.upc for the carolina? sounds like dividing with zero, something unknown and catastrophic will happen:P but thats just me guessing, i really have no clue if its bad:P |

Do you mean the values in the cfg files? These files does not have so much influence as the crew coefficiency regarding detection range. If you`re thinking of the cfg files, just copy them from the Montana. I don`t know witch numbers to put in to increase the range even further. There are limitations on how far you can see ships. Ships get physicly rendered at 30 km. I once sank a ship at 25+ km. The ground behind the ship wasn`t rendered yet.
