California Dream Act Passed

Quote:
"LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law on Monday a bill allowing illegal immigrants to receive privately funded scholarships to attend the state's public colleges and universities.
The bill, dubbed the California Dream Act, passed the state Legislature earlier this month and aims at helping illegal immigrants who earned a diploma after attending at least three years of high school in the state."

Despicable.

Yet 2 of my American born and bred friends just lost theirs.

Truly horrible.

This bill was passed in Maryland as well. However, strong opposition and petitioning with signature to get it on the ballot for citizen voting was accomplished. The next round of voting coming up this will be decided by the citizenship of Maryland. Looks like it will go down in a ball of flames on that day.

The illegals can not vote. They are illegal. The decision should be left to the voting legal public. It is unfortunate that some believe all should get everything for nothing. Last time I checked, those that came through Ellis Island over 100 years ago did not get anything for nothing. These folks learned the language and became US citizens the proper way. Contact any congressman that is opposed to the legislation. Start a petition.

This is how government works...

1. The Dream Act was passed April 11th 2011

2. Govenor Eliminates the Distinguished Scholars award, which provides $3,000 annually for high-achieving students who attend Maryland universities, was part of a package of budget cuts presented by O'Malley to the General Assembly this year. Cutting the award was estimated to save the state just over $1 million.

After seeing his stupidity of granting millions to illegals for school assistance and cutting assistance to deserving legal students he does this:

Scholarships for 350 Maryland high school seniors have been restored, Gov. Martin O'Malley announced Wednesday, just days after state officials told scholarship winners they had lost the college money because of budget cuts.

This is brilliance that runs local government and also the federal government. It makes you want to cry.

Then you know realize this move is to get votes from a particular group of people. It has nothing to do with caring about a kids education. Plain and simple.

That is not the case here. Ore-gone has one of the easiest voter registrations in the nation and we have vote by mail!

One party rule here. Do you think they will change the system? (and get ride of the fraud)

Well, no. Easy to keep the deck stacked when it is stacked in your favor. This is a political move to gain more votes. The system is crap.

I'm in the Midwest... Everything you talk about makes Southern Indiana sound like it's own nation.

Then again, Southern Indiana, on a county by county basis, is totally red. We'd tar and feather anyone trying to pull stupid **** like this.

Anthony, it is nothing but total incompetence in Maryland and in Washington DC. On one hand they give illegals millions for scholarship assistance. Meahwhile the other hand is pulling money from US citizens deserving of scholarship assistance. Budget constraints!!! Really? How can you dump millions to illegals but not legals for schooling? Budget constraints my arse. Our governor looked like a huge jackass. What needs to be done is mandatory requirement in becoming a full law abiding US citizen. Then and only then can the individual reap the benefits. The dream act was crafted to get votes.

I've been saying for years that California is no longer part of the United States. Illegal immigration has gone unchecked and without reprocussions for those that hire them, for YEARS. Decades even. The result is, today, for all intents and purposes, it is a province of Mexico.

Actually AVG, they can vote, just not in the way you think. Let me explain how this works.

In the beginning you have the initial illegals. They come here, and have their a kid. And then, another, and another and another. Hispanic families are alot like Mormon familiies - HUGE. They retain their cultural and national identity, teaching their kids how to speak Spanish. The kids learn English either by proxy, or they go to ESL. Every school in california has an ESL program. What is ESL? English as a Second Language.

These kids grow up, without much interrgration with America, because of their parents who are Mexican nationals, keep strong ties to Mexico, and instill those values in their kids.

The result is this:

These are student's mind you! Tommorrows voters in California
( http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/mexicoflag.asp )

Lastly, this scene, is not uncommon in California:

California is a case study, an example of what to avoid, of what will eventually happen to other states if they don't clamp down on illegal immigration. They' breed, mulitply, and acquire a voting contingent of anchor babies that has enough political clout that politicians can't ignore if they want to keep office. This is how this works, and how Pro illegal laws come to pass. We really, Really, REALLY, need to change the laws that allow this to happen. But that'll never happen. Nevada and Texas are probably next on the "reconquista" list. Utah, won't be far behind them in the next decade or two I imagine.

Exactly! that link is one of the most disturbing things ive ever seen. They're not even trying to hide it. its like an unofficial war with mexico. Theyre trying to drag us into their poverty with them. I had to get whooping cough shots to go back to college this year. we havent seen whooping cough present in large numbers in years. The mexicans are bringing diseases cured by our country back in, theyre robbing us of money (and sending it back to mexico), and they bring crime rates up. its time for our own dam revolution. crack downon the borders and start deporting.
