Default Need a bit of help please

While on my 2nd patrol I thought would try my deck out on a lone merchant I sent my man to the deck gun station but he wouldn't fire on the ship and same goes the flak guns as well. There no mods installed it is a clean game of SH5
Am I doing something wrong or something am not doing if so any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

While looking through the binocs at your target, press Space.
The 2 dude handling the cannon are so happy about shooting stuff that they will not stop until anything its floating around you will not get sunk or the ammo is depleted. To stop the killing frenzy, press F5 and they will vanish.

While we're at it, what does the little bar that appears above a target with the moving blue & white line indicate?
I've seen it while using the deck gun and also after firing a torpedo
Thanx

The blue line is flooding and the white line is damage. When either line is empty the ship will sink.

Rather than start a new thread might as well post it hear.

I have just completed British coastal waters mission (I got the German cross high lighted in white) and now when return to Kiel it doesn't give me the option to dock in port is there something that I am missing or do I to the 2 missions of this campaign but if so i can not find an option to this.

Short time lurker, first time poster, and a REALLY bad opponent for the british navy.

It seems like a thread always dies just as someone asks one of my big questions? at the moment i can only assume you move up between the Happy time campaign and the next one.

I think even in the stock game the upgrades are based on timeline... they will appear after a bit of sailing.. I don't have exact dates and I'm using waaaay tooo many mods to tell you when exactly they will be available in the stock game, but just wait and see...

Happy Time campaign is the 2nd flotilla and has the following boats:-

Quote:
[Flotilla 2.UserPlayerUnitType 1]
ID= F2VIIA
NameDisplayable= Type VIIA U-boat
AvailabilityInterval= NULL, NULL ;1941-01-01
IDLinkUserPlayerUnitType= VIIA
UnitTypeCommonality= 4 ; to be used when a random choice is assigned
IDFlotillaLinkTransferTo= NULL

[Flotilla 2.UserPlayerUnitType 2]
ID= F2VIIC
NameDisplayable= Type VIIC U-boat
AvailabilityInterval= 1940-07-30, NULL
IDLinkUserPlayerUnitType= VIIC
UnitTypeCommonality= 10 ; to be used when a random choice is assigned
IDFlotillaLinkTransferTo= NULL

[Flotilla 2.UserPlayerUnitType 3] ; To Subsim guys - I know 2nd Flotilla didn't use type VIIB's, but i didn't want the player to be sent back to Kiel.
ID= F2VIIB
NameDisplayable= Type VIIB U-boat
AvailabilityInterval= NULL, NULL
IDLinkUserPlayerUnitType= VIIB
UnitTypeCommonality= 8 ; to be used when a random choice is assigned
IDFlotillaLinkTransferTo= NULL

Stick to the patrol areas you are assigned too, I did every patrol it asked me usually get 3 areas to patrol during each mission. On the fourth mission I was given the VIIC and my title went from promising to Ace. Of course I still sunk ships while on the patrol, an earlier campaign I just sunk ships without doing the assigned patrol areas and I still had the VIIA in the second campaign and title was still set at promising.
